The Worst Concealers, EVER!

It makes me cringe when I see a beautiful woman and her concealer is peeking out underneath her foundation.  Whether it’s because it’s cakey, it looks dry, or just the color is just all wrong, it’s not good.  A bad concealer actually brings unwanted attention to what we wanted to camoflage in the first place. Why do I cringe? Because I use to be that woman! Here are some of the concealers voted the worst by gals just like us:

Concealer has the most important job of all — to hide the imperfections we’d rather not show (agreed?). So when we read our reader reviews on these second-rate concealers, we had to share — immediately!

REVIEW: The Body Shop Offers All That Glitters

Do you want to know what’s inside this box?  I could barely contain my curiosity myself.  It’s an adorable and affordable new gift set from The Body Shop called All That Glitters.  Included in the set:

  • .14 fl oz Glitter Eye Liner in Silver
  • .005 fl oz Mini Super Volume Mascara
  • Eye Shimmer in Shade 01: Silver
  • Eye Lash Curler
  •

Let’s take a peek inside, shall we?

Unless it’s an entire palette, I don’t really see many gift sets that are eye makeup based.  So this is nice because you get a tool and you get some color products like the shadow and the liner.  Let’s not forget that Super Volume Mascara they are known for.  I think my one gripe would have to be the lack of pigment in the shimmer shadow.  The glitter liner is fab and it does not budge.  I did have to forcibly remove it from the back of my hand after it had dried, so I think that will stand as a testament to it’s staying power.  I like the whole reusable box theme as well.  I’ve got plenty of little things to put in that tin.  Starting with my abundance of eyeshadows right now!

Another thing I was dying to try was the new Sparkle and Shimmer Powder Puff.  It comes in one color which happens to be a peach tone.  The applicator makes it a little difficult to apply precisely as a blush, so I recommend doing so by opening up the lid and applying with your blush brush.

I thought this was a cute color, but not an everyday thing for me.  It would definitely be reserved for a night out or for holiday gatherings.  I found it to be pretty pigmented and sparkly hence, sparkle and shimmer!  Enjoy!

MAC & Hello Kitty, a dream come true

A few months ago, I got really excited at the rumblings in the makeup universe about a possible collaboration between MAC and Hello Kitty.  As a matter of fact, I think my exact sentiment was OMG or something to that effect.

Within the last few days, I’ve been poking around and I’m finding some credence to those rumors.  Both Beauty & Fashion Tech and Spektra are also reporting the news.  If this really is true, some of us girls may finally be getting what we’ve wanted for so long!  A MAC Hello Kitty collection will absolutely, without a doubt sell-out in a fever pitch.  I will buy several of the pieces to collect in addition to those for personal use.  What about you?  Supposedly hitting February… hmm, I wonder what I am getting for my birthday?
