It’s easy for me to become intimidated by anything that’s in a cream base, and if you have enlarged pores and a shiny t-zone–you probably know exactly why!  Often the formulas settle into my pores and only emphasize them, it’s not quite the look I was going for.  At first glance at the Vapour Organic Beauty products, I thought they would all be cream bases because they’re mostly packaged in stick form…but they aren’t creams, and then they are.  I’ll try my best to describe them!

Review: Chloe Eau de Toilette

Posted under category "fragrance, luxury, new products, product reviews" on March 9th, 2010

There are some really beautiful fragrances that come across my desk–some of them are really playful, some more mature, and some that are very elegant…but very rarely are there perfumes that are all three.  The new Chloé Eau de Toilette is a lighter, fresher translation of the Eau de Parfum (2008) and a complete 180 than what I was expecting!

When I hear of notes like watermelon and mandarin mixed with freesia, I think of playful–but this is blended carefully with very, very soft powdery notes of sandalwood and iris which surprisingly make it fresh and not old lady-ish.  I know with fragrances the nose just knows, and your interpretation could totally differ–but of all of the more “mature” scents I’ve tried out, I have to say this is a favorite of mine!

The bottle declares it a true luxury item, it’s nice and solid and beautifully adorned with silver-plated features and a beige ribbon.  Both a classic and fit for a fashionista, if you like more timeless fragrances that make a chic statement–take a whiff of Chloé Eau de Toilette!

Chloé Eau de Toilette 1.7 oz – $65
Chloé Eau de Toilette 2.5 oz – $85

I rushed home from all of my Sunday errands yesterday, literally just one minute before the red carpet coverage began.  I even put my husband to work on the couch next to me, taking notes on the arrivals!  Here’s what we thought…well–mostly what I thought:

The Fab

The belle of the ball last night was clearly Sandra Bullock.  This has been her awards season for sure!

Sandra Bullock 2010 Academy Awards

My fellow Twitter-dolls helped me to confirm that Sandra was wearing Chanel Rouge Coco in “Paris” on her lips, a perfect choice for the stunning champagne Marchesa gown she wore.  It was paired with a straight, sleek hairstyle–worn down with a deep side part and placed over one shoulder.  She’s been wearing variations of this style on the red carpet lately and it works for her, so why not?  There wasn’t a dry eye in my house during her gracious and humble acceptance speech, Sandy is so cool that she could be my BFF is she wanted to!  And no, I wouldn’t hit on her husband…
