Vincent Longo Creme Concealer

Fresh off the catastrophe of the Tricia Sawyer Full Potential Cream Foundation escapade, I tried Vincent Longo Creme Concealer.

I’m not going to waste any time.  Wow, wow, wow, and wow.  First of all, it’s super light and creamy considering how dense the product is in the pot.  It’s not heavy at all!  But conceals like NOBODY’S BUSINESS.  I’ve always been afraid of Vincent Longo products and I don’t know why.  Somebody slap me because now I know there’s more to try.

I used this under my eyes and on a few red spots… ahem… OKAY!  Blemishes.  And it took the red out and my skin looked really natural once it was all said and done.  I imagine this would work well even over or under make-up or a tinted moisturizer due to the easy workability of the product.  I LOVE VINCENT LONGO CONCEALER NOW!  It comes in 6 shades which I think is great since there is one for everyone.  Please see the swatches below:

 Have a beautiful day!

Dior HydraAction Visible Defense SPF 20 Eye Cream

It is SO hard to find a great eye cream with sunscreen in it.  I’m probably a little overkill with the sunscreen and the sunglasses when I’m going to the mailbox, but hey.  I don’t care.   I’m the one that has to look at my face in 20 years.

I digress.  As the market demands more sunscreen, the more we shall get.  And the more quality products we demand for our money– hopefully– the more we will get.

While not exactly new on the market, but gaining popularity once again is Dior’s HydraAction Visible Defense Eye Cream with SPF 20.  I think an SPF 20 for an eye cream is FAB.  I rarely see them that high so if you know of any others.  Please let me know.

This one is very luxurious to the touch.  It’s a souffle-like texture, but not too thick.  It is delicately scented in a floral fragrance but nothing crazy or overwhelming.  Vitamin E and floral extracts make it soothing and this is now my “I’m going to be active today” eye cream.  I have another new favorite without SPF but we’ll talk about that later.  I don’t usually think about skincare when I think about Dior, but for this eye cream, I will.

Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Mask

I had to color my hair last night because, *cough* I’m not my natural hair color anymore due to things like *cough cough* heredity and age.

I’m retouching on average once every 3 weeks and each time I am using a different mask afterwards hoping to heal some of the damage I have just done.  Some have been cheapies from the drugstore, the best one I found was one by Neutrogena (Triple Moisture) and others have been salon quality.  This time I tried Fekkai Technician Color Care 3 Minute Mask.  I’m trying to stop the revolving door of products in my shower for this matter and looking for one to stick around…

First, I loved the scent.  The texture of it wasn’t too thick or too thin and it was super easy to comb through my hair.  I left it on shortly over 3 minutes… (sorry I was enjoying the great smelling bubbles from my shower gel)

It felt like an in-salon intense treatment in an at-home time.  I LOVED it.  My hair is soft, shiny, and the color looks great if I do say so myself ;)  It’s not as dry as it usually is.  Although not perfect, (I don’t think ANYTHING could fix this head of hair of mine) it did what it said it would do.  Thumbs up!

Back To Matte

Always on the quest to calm the shinies, yes I am.  This past week I tried 2 mattifiers/primers.  When I do wear full-on make-up with foundation and everything it is essential I wear a primer because I am wearing it for long hours at a time.  The only way I can make it through a day is with it’s help.

I purchased The Body Shop’s Matte It.  It is a cyclomethicone based mattifier/primer but it also has aloe in it.  It’s a really simple formula and I like that.  It did not break down on me during the day at all and I did not need to reapply by tapping over my make-up mid-day like I do with some others.  It’s only $14, so I think it’s comparable if not better than some of those “luxury” brands out there that act like they are selling gold in their bottles for the prices they charge.  This one gets my seal of approval.  It lasted 9 hours yesterday with minimal shine.

I wish I could say the same for Laura Geller’s Welcome Matte.  Heavens to Betsy, girls.  I felt like someone had taken a turkey baster to my face with this one barely 2 hours in.  Yikes.  It went on like all of the other mattifiers I’ve tried and I had very high hopes because I wanted to give it a good review.  There was something about it though-  a little wetter going on and more slip.  Sorry, it’s just not for me.  I am interested in what your favorite primers are, so comment below and let me know!

Jonathan Product Beauty Water

Remember that show on A&E called “Blow Out” from a few years ago?  I quickly adored Jonathan Antin’s quirky and egotistical ways.  Mainly, I sympathized with him because I was doing hair at the time and I looked to him for inspiration.  Did it work?  I dunno, I don’t do hair anymore… but who knows what the future holds?

He came out with some great styling products like Dirt and his shampoos are awesome.  What I fell in love with most… Jonathan Product Beauty Water.  That’s right.  I fell in love with a shower filter.  City water is so craptacular it was irritating my skin, making my back scaly, drying out my hair, and breaking me out.  In the hopes of this filter making a difference in at least ONE of those things, I shelled out the cash for it.

Things haven’t been the same since.  I won’t be without it.  Here’s some info from the Sephora site:

Besides improving your hair condition, the Beauty Water™ Shower Purification System may actually improve the quality of your shower: The actual filter attaches to your existing showerhead, and then a luxury showerhead attachment—complete with massage and water pressure variation settings—attaches on to that. The powerful purification filter is made of Amorphous Titanium Silicate, a potassium-charged mineral that’s coated with carbonized coconut shells. These two ingredients work together to remove synthetic chemicals and heavy metals like copper and lead, while a KDF-55 filter whisks away chlorine.

Another thing I love about it is that’s it’s a California water conservation shower head, so you aren’t wasting precious resources while feeling luxurious.  The pressure isn’t compromised in any way.  This is a must buy.  It did all of the things I wanted it to.  Filter replacements are also available.
