Earlier this year, Flower Beauty launched exclusively at Walmart with much fanfare. The line was created in partnership with Drew Barrymore, and I’ve seen so many products from the line receive high praise in the blogosphere. I finally had a chance to check out a few pieces from the collection, and first up is the Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad in Foxy Browns.

Shadow Play in Foxy Browns
This is a beautiful combination of browns and taupe with a soft shell pink for highlight, so my first impressions were favorable. To the touch, they feel so smooth and creamy—but they’re also powdery. It’s so hard to describe, because I can’t say that I’ve ever wanted to love something more. When I went to apply them, that’s when things went a little south. [continue reading…]
Beauty Quickies is a series where I showcase a great product that I haven’t had the opportunity to write a comprehensive review for. These products pass my standards, and I hope you enjoy getting these beauty product stats at-a-glance!

Self-tanning season is upon us, and I’ve been in search of great body lotions to keep skin hydrated to extend the life of your faux glow! While shopping at Sally Beauty Supply last month, I stumbled across the Exotic Oils Body Lotions from Body Drench, and I had to give them a shot. (Their Original Moisturizing Lotion is also awesome for extending the life of a self-tan!)
The Exotic Oils are available in three varieties; Tahitian Monoi Oil, Indian Neroli Oil, and Moroccan Argan Oil. I’ve tried two of them, and they’re fantastic.

Tahitian Monoi Oil
As a fan of delicious fragrances, these hit all the right notes for me. The Tahitian Monoi Oil is a tropical treat, with rich coconut and Tahitian gardenia notes. The Indian Neroli Oil is scented primarily like neroli (a beautiful bitter orange note). I haven’t had a chance to try the Moroccan Argan Oil, but it’s next on my list.
While these smell great, they also pack some great hydrating ingredients; cocoa butter, Vitamin E, jojoba oil, and coconut oil just to name a few. Not quite as rich as a body butter, the lotion texture still feels rich, yet penetrates and absorbs quickly—so it doesn’t leave behind that uncomfortable grimy, sticky feeling that a lot of lotions can. Go ahead and skip the perfume while wearing these, their authentic fragrance notes stand on their own. Weighing in at a whopping 16.9 ounces, the Exotic Oils body lotions from Body Drench are a superb value.
