SkinPrep FX Treatment and Priming Serum by CoverFX is just that.  It’s treatment AND a make-up primer.  I’m on a bit of a primer kick lately because I want to help everyone find the right one for their skin woes.  I love, love, love how much they focused on the skincare aspect in this product.  I think it’s absolutely amazing how much good stuff they were able to pack into such a small bottle.  I honestly don’t think I’ve ever tried anything with Vitamin F in it before.

I tried this and I was really impressed with it overall but I’m afraid it will do nothing to absorb any excess oil on your skin.  It held up well under warm conditions, my make-up was still “on” yet I got pretty greased up after a few hours.  Thank God for blotting papers!  I think it would be wonderful for a more mature, dryer skin type or for anyone who wants an extra kick in their regime to give aging a kick in the butt.  I am interested in trying more products in their line though, it looks like they do their research and search for the best ingredients.

Look at some of these ingredients!  According to SkinPrep FX:

  • *Vitamin F is an omega-3 fatty acid used to treat dry, atopic skin.
  • *Vitamin A is an established anti-wrinkle additive.
  • *Vitamin C (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) increases natural collagen formation in cells, resulting in more plump, youthful looking skin.
  • *Vitamin E is the antioxidant workhorse of cosmeceuticals.
  • *Bisabolol is a natural anti-inflammatory agent derived from the chamomile plant to reduce redness and inflammation.
  • *Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally found skin humectant.  Hyaluronic acid captures 1000 times it’s weight in water to provide ultimate skin hydration.
  • *Squalene, derived from Mediterranean olives, is a pure emollient which nourishes and hydrates the skin.  Squalene improves skin elasticity and skin texture.
  • *Matrikenes, small peptides, that serve as messengers that regulate the sequence of events required for skin repair and wound healing.

”In general, clinical studies show an excellent anti-wrinkle efficacy after two months of twice daily application. A very significant decrease in depth (-44%) and quantity of wrinkles was observed, giving rise to smoother skin (-14% roughness) and skin firmness (-16%) which all reflected in an improvement in skin tone (+15%). 3% Matrixyl 3000, randomized application twice daily, 25 panelists, two months.”

Pretty impressive if you ask me.  I’ve never heard of wearing a “primer” at night but it makes sense since this is so treatment based.  Nice!
