Don’t get me wrong. I love the promo photo for the new Smashbox Rapture Collection, but I don’t love the collection. Here’s why:
It’s holiday, I want a collection that feels at least somewhat festive. Other than the little bit of gold in the corners of the model’s eyes– there’s nothing really festive about this in my opinion. She’s beautiful, light, and ethereal, but that’s more of a spring / early summer kind of thing to me. For the masses, I don’t think this is holiday enough.
On the other hand, this could be a winner for Smashbox for that very reason. Since it’s lighter and more airy than most of the collections currently being offered, that may be their coup d’ etat.
