REVIEW: Organicare Daily Dew Moisturizer

by Amber on December 26, 2008

in eco-friendly beauty,moisturizer,new products,product reviews,skincare

A few weeks ago, I was browsing through the “What’s New” section on the Nordstrom website.  I always head straight to the beauty section– it is a sickness!  Some new products by Organicare caught my eye.  I must, must try this I told myself and I did have a chance to wear the Daily Dew Moisturizer.

This stuff is SO GOOD for your skin!  I often praise the benefits of antioxidants and this completely USDA-certified organic skincare line is quite impressive.  All of their products are petrochemical-free and loaded in amino acids and antioxidants.  I’m only going to tell you a few of the beneficial ingredients in the Daily Dew, and then you can draw your own conclusion.  Orange peel oil (don’t be afraid because of the word oil!), vitamin E, vitamin A, coconut acids, and beeswax.  Those are just a few, but I didn’t see anything funky at all in the ingredients.  Everything is made with renewable resources, even the packaging.  They’re also carbon neutral!  The cartons are made with wind power, what I wouldn’t give to see that in action…

But does it work?  For me, yes it does.  The first time I tested it was kind of in an abnormal situation.  After cleansing my face, I applied it and then put on my favorite mineral makeup, Nature’s Minerals with SPF 25.  I didn’t want to apply any other SPF over the moisturizer so I could get a real feel for it.  I took a long walk– about an hour and a half one afternoon.  I was not wearing makeup primer at all, and despite the air being quite chilly on my jaunt I actually broke a little bit of a sweat.  I checked my skin in the mirror after my walk,  and I wasn’t super shiny like I would usually get.  When I first applied the Daily Dew, I noticed it absorbed really quickly, didn’t feel greasy, and had a little bit of a mattifying effect.  It smells as if you just peeled an orange and the texture was just right.

Do I like it?  YES!  It gets a thumbs up from me.  Check here for retail locations for the Organicare line or check out their online shop.
