I have wanted to sit down and write a review for this product for several weeks now, and it's been killing me that I haven't physically been able to.  My arm is feeling a little better today so I figured I better jump on it!  When I first read about the new Boscia Luminizing Black ...

REVIEW: Sleeping well with Thymes Sleep Well

by Amber on December 29, 2008

in fragrance,skincare

Who wants to sleep well? I think we’re all a little sleep deprived and stressed right now. Studies reveal that stress and sleep directly affect each other and go hand in hand. Too much stress = not enough sleep, and not enough sleep = the ability to be more easily stressed. It’s a vicious cycle, and it’s so important during these trying times to blow the whistle and call a time out. Relax, take some sweet time for yourself!  You can start by creating a relaxing environment for yourself.  Thymes has a fabulous line of relaxation products in their Sleep Well line which I found quite helpful in promoting a great night’s rest.  Here are a few easy steps to have you snoozing in no time:

1.  Light your Thymes Sleep Well Aromatic Candle in the bathroom and run your Sleep Well bath

2.  Enjoy your bath and lather up with your Sleep Well bar soap.  Now you don’t have to worry about taking a shower in the morning.  It’s too cold anyway!  Now you have a few extra minutes to catch some zzz’s.

3.  Hydrate your skin with Thymes Sleep Well AHA Body Lotion or a lavender-scented body moisturizer.  It will further relax you and ready you for bed.  Also, the AHAs will exfoliate your skin so you don’t have to.  Here’s to more “ME” time!

4.  Blow out your candle!  Don’t be tempted to take it in the bedroom… I know it’s romantic and all but it’s not safe.  You’re going to be sleeping soon!

5.  Get your linens and pillows ready for slumber with the Thymes Sleep Well Mist for Body & Bed.  This will envelop your senses in chamomile, rose oil, and valerian and tell your inner monologue it’s time to hush for a few hours.

6.  Wake up and repeat every night that you can!

While this isn’t a magical potion to force you fall asleep, it will relax you which will make it MUCH easier for you to induce your own slumber.  Our inability to relax is pretty much why we can’t sleep in the first place!  It’s important to create these night time rituals to shut down and signal your mind that it’s time to stop.  You wouldn’t just turn off your computer without a proper shut down, would you?  It’s amazing how much better we function with just a few nights of better sleeping and rest under our belts.  Try it out, let me know how it works.  I want to hear what your fave night time rituals are.  What makes you sleep like a baby?

I love this kind of thing…I’m going to have to try it! But I swear by Bath and Body Works’ Lavender Chamomile collection. All I use is the foaming bath/shower gel and the lotion, and I’m out like a light! I love the idea of a pillow mist though…
