There’s no shortage of yummy bath products in our home. I’m always open to something delicious in the shower, so when I had the chance to try out a few products from the Distillations line from Crabtree & Evelyn– let’s just say I wasn’t exactly bummed about it!
First up to bat is the Distillations Deep Cleansing Body Wash. Immediately, you can smell the eucalyptus which I happen to love. I adore anything minty and fresh, and this is definitely minty and fresh! The peppermint oil and camphor just wakes you up and the blend of lemon, lime, and lavender soothes the senses. Along with all of the essential oils, there’s an interesting blend of sea salts for purification. I can’t say I’ve ever seen that before in a body wash. Perhaps it’s been there and I’ve just never noticed. This is a great start to your day in the shower. My one con is going to be that it’s only 8.5 ounces! If you’re using a little bath pouf, your shower gels go much farther but I can tell you I’ll go through this rather quickly because in the morning I need more than a swift kick to get in gear!
I’m doing several tests for upcoming self-tanner reviews, and it’s essential to exfoliate prior to using them. That’s where the Distillations Body Polisher comes in to play with lemon and corriander essential oils. Do you remember back in the day when we all used to use that apricot scrub on our faces with the actual apricot seeds in it? Remember what it looked like? Well upon first impression to me– it looks like that and I had a major 80′s flashback. Sometimes those aren’t good things! Ugh, the hair I had. Nevermind! I thought I could smell black licorice and I scanned the ingredients quickly and didn’t find any. After that initial hit, I could smell an earthy blend of pepper, lemon, and rosemary. It doesn’t smell anything like I had thought when I read the tube. It’s not bad! It’s just different. As far as performance goes, it does polish the body well. The body polish lathers up pretty nicely and the inclusion of acai berry as an antioxidant benefit impresses me. I’m amazed by acai, and whenever I see it in something I stop and take a gander. These products are a little more upscale than your average body products and the prices do reflect that. If you like minty, citrusy, or earthy– give these a try!
