REVIEW: Beauty Society Photo Shoot Facial Primer

If you’ve been a reader here awhile, you might already know that I’m an advocate of makeup primers.  Some gals just don’t want to take the extra step or don’t think they work.  I’m constantly on a journey to bring you the best in beauty, so let me introduce you to another makeup primer I recently tried, Beauty Society’s Photo Shoot Facial Primer:

Photo Shoot retails for $38.50 for a 1.01 fl. oz bottle which isn’t too bad.  That seems about the going rate for a primer these days so no complaints there.  This primer applies translucent, so don’t be fooled by the beige color in the bottle.  I found it to give off a brightening effect without all of the sheen usually associated with those brightening creams and primers, so that was another perk.  One pump is all it takes to smooth onto your skin to prep for foundation, but this will also work pretty well as a mattifier and line diffuser on it’s own.  Sometimes when I’m feeling a little lazy I’ll put my sunscreen on and just apply a primer to blur out little imperfections like my enlarged pore size and then my neighbors don’t get startled when I’m coming down the stairs!  Photo Shoot will also be great for that little trick I pull.  With foundation, it works even better,  I’ve tried it with both a mineral and liquid foundation and it performed equally as well.  I don’t have any complaints– it did what it was supposed to do and held my makeup in place for the day which I appreciate.  I did stay significantly more matte than if I hadn’t used a primer at all so once again– the right primer really does make a difference!

You can check out some other top-rated primers here.  I’m curious to know which primer is your favorite? Leave a comment!

i too am a big believer in using primers. i am always on the hunt for the perfect texture and effectiveness. i was recently trolling the aisles of my local duane reade when i discovered sally hansen natural beauty inspired by carmindy (i love her!) there were tons of goodies in the line, but i focused in on the luminizing face primer. it was only $10, so i popped it in my basket. when i tried it, i was amazed by the plush texture. it made my skin super smooth and made my pores look tiny. when i applied by foundation i had to use way less than normal. there’s also a subtle pearlescence to the primer that made my skin glow through my foundaiton (not oily or greasy though.) i think i found my new fave!

I love Photo Shoot! I have tried just about all primers and am SOLD on PHOTO SHOOT!! I have read in magazines the Celebrites and Stars use Photo Shoot. That was a big plus for me to try it and I love it!! Beauty Society has superior cutting edge products. I love the facial cleansers and serums, moisturizers, etc for my lines and wrinkles and they are disappearing in record time. Much better than going to get chemical peels like I used to do! These products work!!

Hi Katie!

I’m not sure of actual retail locations where you can pick this up– but you can order it here: http://www.divaskinspa.com/

Hope that helps!

Photo shoot is a must! You won’t find it in retail stores,, Beauty society offers all its products through Divas. If you are interested you can visit my website at iris.societyskincare.com. or you could go to Beautysociety.com, click on ‘giving back’ and you’ll be directed to women for women international page, where you can shop, and 25% of proceeds benefit this organization. You’ll find photo shoot in the specialty items. I’m sure you’ll love it.
