There were many hits and misses last night on the red carpet at the 2009 Oscars! We all have our faves and I have to say that my breath was taken away when I saw Halle Berry. She’s elegant, glowing, and I don’t think her Marchesa gown could have been any more beautiful. I usually don’t do a lot of award show recaps, but I was SHOCKED this morning when I found out Halle’s hairstyle was created using TRESemmé products for under $15! I had to share stylist Mara Roszak’s tips on how she created Halle’s striking chignon:

- Apply TRESemmé Thermal Creations Straightening Gel on wet hair from roots to ends. Blow-dry hair with a medium-sized round brush, creating movement and lift.
- Then, curl random sections of hair using a 1 1/4 inch curling iron, spraying each section with TRESemmé TRES TWO Ultra Fine Mist hairspray before curling. Apply a small amount of TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Weightless Crème onto hands, rub together, and brush out curls with fingertips, giving hair body and shine.
- Next, pull hair into a mid-height pony, twisting it into a loose chignon, pinning as you go. Be sure to leave out some pieces to give it an organic look.
- Finally, spray with TRESemmé TRES TWO Ultra Fine Mist hairspray to hold chignon.
Now that’s recessionista très chic!
