Review: L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara

Tubing mascaras have been around for a few years now, and they just keep getting better with each release.  After trying L’Oréal’s new Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara, I’ve decided they’ve come a long way!

This mascara completely exaggerates the length of my lashes and didn’t flake throughout the day like a few other lash tubing wonders I’ve worn.  I find it’s best to work with this pretty quickly doing both steps on one eye at a time.  In other words, don’t use step one on both eyes and then go back with step 2 for both eyes because it dries fairly quickly.  Those are my words of wisdom to ensure your eyes are both flake and smudge-free!  Here’s the before and after shot, the length is SERIOUS:

Removal of Double Extend is a little bit different than what you may be used to.  It will come off easily with warm water!  I’ll take a little warm water and cup it in my hand and place it over my eye.  The tubes come right off, and at first you might think you’re losing your lashes!  But never fear, it’s just the tubes sliding off that were wrapped around your eyelashes.  I recommend Double Extend if it’s length you’re looking for.

I heart this mascara!!! OMG, I’ll never use anything but tubular mascara again. Even though I wash my face every night, somehow, I never manage to get ALL the mascara off, and wake up with racoon eyes, but not with this stuff! The only thing I don’t like about it is having to use the 2 step process, and yep, you’re right – gotta work quickly.

A perfect roadtest for this mascara: I had a rather difficult day a week or so ago (mothers and teenage daughters type of thing), which left me in tears for several hours. NO MASCARA UNDER MY EYES!!! Ok, a few tubes came off, but I just flicked ‘em away and ta da! Besides, my eyes were so puffy, who would notice some missing tubes? LOL. If you plan to go see a movie that you know is going to make you cry, wear ths stuff. You can leave the theater with confidence. My daughter is a Varsity Swimmer on her high school swim team. She wears this mascara, swims with goggles, rubs her eyes after taking off the goggles, and comes home after 2 hours of swimming with nothing below her eyes.

I just bought Blinc’s mascara, which is the original tubular version. It’s twice the price, but it’s a one step process, so I figure it’s got twice the product as well, making it basically the same price. Haven’t tried it yet though – it’s sitting there waiting for me to finish the Double Extend first.

That’s a perfect testimonial! Seriously, this stuff is awesome and the price is very nice if ya know what I mean! Maybe I should have been wearing this when I was watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button! xo Amber
