Fab Finds: Eye cream recommendations for Beauty Junkies

by Amber on March 5, 2009

in anti-aging,eye cream,moisturizer,skincare

My current favorites and fab finds in the eye cream department are phenomenal.  These are all what I deem to be skincare arsenal-worthy and worth every cent in my opinion:

1.  Kinara Skin Spa Eye Cream  Soothing anti-inflammatory cosmeceutical and herbal ingredients target the signs of aging, puffiness, and dehydration around the eye area.  Great on the lips, too!  I tried this for the first time about 2 months ago and give it a seal of approval.

2.  Olay Professional Pro X Eye Restoration Complex  Proven results in clinical tests conducted by independent dermatologists show this gives gratification in as little as 30 days.  After just 5 weeks of consistent use, I noticed an improvement in my squint-lines.

3.  Setoso Eye Balm  This weightless eye balm in a stick form instantly cools the vulnerable skin around my eyes!  Use this before any eye cream for extra insurance.  I’m currently addicted to applying this because of the sensation and quick absorbtion rate!  Fragrance and paraben-free, and also works well under makeup.  Hyaluronic acid makes this a stand-out winner.  I’m using this around my lips too to give them extra love.

4.   liiv Botanicals Vitalizing Eye Cream with SPF 15  Super affordable and infused with plant botanicals, this eye cream delivers hydration plus the protection of a sunscreen.  An exceptional buy at a retail of only $12, this is a morning skincare angel!

What do you find best for bags? I always have bags, I think eventually I will have to have surgery to have them removed. I’ve tried a lot of different creams, but nothing really works. Is there anything for that? I think it’s more fatty deposits than fluid….

Hi Katie and Shauna! Thanks for the love!

Shauna, that’s an extremely good question. In my experience over the years in the beauty world, I’ve talked to some women who have deposits under their eyes that have wanted to go in and have them surgically removed. One of those was an extremely severe case however, and she told me that when they flare up– they obstructed her vision. I never had the chance to find out how it went!

You’re young and gorgeous so I’m going to put my money on the fact that you can help reduce that less invasively! ;) I’m more of a dark-circles and crinkles gal under my eyes and currently don’t have firsthand experience with any products for this. What I can tell you is that it would be worth looking into an eye treatment that will help prevent leakage from the tissues around the eye and maybe ask your Doctor or Derm about a prescription formula. Another thing worth checking into is an eye treatment or cream with the Eyeliss peptide formula. According to studies, it’s said to improve lymphatic circulation.

Check this out, let me know if it helps! http://www.skingeek.com/eyeliss-reduces-puffiness-and-bags-under-the-eyes/ Keep me posted hon! The next time I interview a Derm or cosmetic scientist, I’m going to ask your question.

I just recently started using Philosophy’s Hope in a Tube, for eyes and lips. I won it in a contest. I will never use anything else! It instantly smooths my undereye area and takes away my fine lines and crepe-y skin…. love love love.

Shauna, on 3/2/10 on Dr. Oz’s TV show the topics were specif problems ladies were concerned about with their faces. One lady had concerns about extreme bags under her eyes. I printed this off the Dr. Oz website and here’s what they said: Wrinkle products that contain eyeseryl tetrapeptide, which can penatrate the skin beneath the eyes and lessen their puffy appearance by building up the surrounding skin. They recommended Kinerase Under Eye Rescue, $48. I don’t know if this is something you want to try or not, but saw your post and thought I would pass it on. Good luck whatever you decide.

AmberNo Gravatar March 6, 2010 at 10:44 am

Hi Eileen :)

Very good detective work! I’ve kinda forgotten about Kinerase (oops) lately and haven’t spoken about it as much as I should, so thanks for the reminder! Several years ago I took some classes that were really in-depth for ingredients and not partial to any one specific brand. Peptides like the ones in the Under Eye Rescue did score pretty high! Kinerase is one of those clinical brands that have done a ton of research, and while I haven’t personally tried it or endorse it–I know a lot of people are happy with it ;)
