Review: L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup

You can’t always get what you want… or so the song goes!  L’Oréal is offering coverage in a compact– coverage that travels well?  I thought this might be too good to be true.

I got my hot little hands on a compact of L’Oréal True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup in W2, light ivory.  I perked up immediately at the SPF 17 so it had already won a check mark in it’s favor.  At first touch, it’s super smooth.  I had a hard time believing that it’s oil-free considering how easily it glides across the skin.  After prepping my face with a primer, I applied this with the included sponge and built up to medium coverage.  I haven’t had super luck in the cream foundation department so I was pretty impressed.  True Match took a beating on a busy day and didn’t shift colors like I’ve experienced in the past.

I’ve been looking for a review on this and I’m so glad I found your blog. Thanks for the details. Finally, a L’Oreal foundation that doesn’t shift colors!

Looks like I’ll I’ll be making a trip to to the cosmetics department. Is this the same product ‘Ellen’ advertises?

Hi Dawn!

Ellen does CoverGirl, but that’s awesome too!

I bought a compact makeup using the selection guide at my local drug store. I put the semitransparent piece of plastic up against the inside of my wrist to find a color match. The chosen color did not look like a good match to me, but I bought it anyway. When I got home and tried it, I found that it was a perfect match. I am a very happy customer!! I have wasted so much money in the past buying foundation that did not look good on me.

I used to use the liquid foundation, but found that L’Oreal’s foundation tended to “break down” on my oily skin, but after getting some coupons and a discount at Ulta, I purchased the powder. I now use it daily to set my Revlon Colorstay foundation. It keeps my oily skin in check and “sets my face” for the day.

I’m looking for a new foundation and was thinking of getting this, especially since I’ve recently become a fan of truematch concealor and powder. I was just wondering how long it lasts though?
