Hope this helps: How to apply false eyelashes

I’ve been wearing makeup for what seems like an eternity, but false lashes have always intimidated me.  I had never applied them without the help of a makeup artist until just a few months ago.  False lashes are a great way to glam up your look and they are such an inexpensive little indulgence!  I know a majority of gals are intimidated by them too, so let’s try doing this together.  Nothing a little eyelash how-to can’t fix!  It’s not as hard as it seems to apply false eyelashes.   Promise!

1. Select your lashes.  I’m really loving these by Revlon right now– The style I prefer is called Lush out of their Fantasy Lengths collection.  One of the reasons I like these is because they are broken up into small sections and are easier for me to apply.  These also give a cute effect when you apply them just to the outer corners of the eyes, it lifts them up and looks really flattering.  But they come in so many other styles to choose from!  Before I get started, I do my desired eyeshadow application, curl my lashes (optional, but really helps placement!), and apply my mascara.

2. Remove the lashes from the backing kinda carefully.  You can measure them up to your lash line if you are using a single band style and size them with some little cuticle scissors.

3. Snap a cotton swab in half.  Open up your adhesive and apply a dot on the back of your hand or you can dab a little bit on the plastic tray the lashes came on.  (I prefer the latter)  Take the broken end of your cotton swab and dab a little into the adhesive.  A lot of people like to use Duo Lash Adhesive, but I’ve always just used whatever the lashes come with and I’ve never had a problem with the Revlon glue.

4. Hold the false lashes with a pair of tweezers.  These shouldn’t be your best pair, it’s likely you’re gonna get glue on them!  I would use a pair that doesn’t have very pointy ends on them either.  Apply the adhesive to the false lash band, it doesn’t take a lot.  Holding the false lash with the tweezers, let it dry for 10-20 seconds until it gets tacky.

5. Look down into your mirror.  Place the false lash to your lash line, as close as possible to your actual lash line and lightly press.  Don’t worry, you can maneuver it a little bit and the glue will dry clear!

6. Time to finish up with eyeliner.  You can use a liquid liner over the the band and play connect the dots in between to even everything out.  I actually prefer to use my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero (black).  It glides so effortlessly and doesn’t run at all during the day, it really just helps complete the whole look since I’m not very good at liquid liners at all.  Ta-da!  You’ve got killer lashes!

It takes me about 10 extra minutes when I apply false lashes, I am such a slow-poke– but the end result is SO worth it.  I hope this how-to helps!

There a 4 lash sets from Revlon included in the Beauty Stimulus Package Giveaway this month!  Did you already enter today?
