CoverGirl Queen Latifah rocks her birthday party!

by Amber on March 30, 2009

in celebrity beauty,events,fun stuff

On Saturday night, I had one of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that I won’t ever forget!  I was fortunate enough to attend Queen Latifah’s birthday party thrown by CoverGirl’s Queen Collection.  Queen Latifah is an incredible, strong, talented, intelligent, and well-respected woman.  There are so many things I love about her– I could go on!  A little after midnight, the curtain dropped and Queen just came out FULL FORCE with her amazing voice and stage presence.  Everyone was going nuts!  As an added surprise, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, MC Lyte, and DJ Q-Tip also performed, please excuse me if I forgot anyone.  Like Queen said, it was like Dancing With The Stars!  There was so much fabulousness going on that I could hardly keep track, everywhere I turned there was a celeb in my immediate vicinity.  A few people I literally ran into: Tracy Morgan, Raven Symone, Omar Epps, Heavy D, and Spinderella.  Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton weren’t in my sights but I heard they were there.  Hope you had a great birthday, Queen, everyone loves you!  Thanks for treating us to an incredible performance.

Celebrity makeup artist extraordinaire, Sam Fine, created Queen Latifah’s beautiful birthday look with products from CoverGirl:

“For Queen’s birthday party, we wanted to really rev up the glamour. The easiest way to take a look from day to night is to focus on a bold eye statement and add gloss to the lips,” advises Sam. ”We made the eyes sparkle to compliment the gorgeous couture corset she had made.”

To get this look, try:

Blush: TruBlend microminerals Blush in Shimmering Sands
Eye Shadow: CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Shimmering Onyx
Mascara: LashBlast Luxe in Black Platinum
Eye Liner: Outlast SmoothWear All-Day Eyeliner in Onyx
Lip gloss: CoverGirl Wetslicks AmazeMint Lip Gloss in No Care Bare

Hi,

Can you suggest MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Makeup for Ever, Stila, colors that could be used to recreate the look

AmberNo Gravatar April 8, 2009 at 4:14 pm

Hi La! Thanks for visiting! For the eyes, I would try NARS Night Clubbing eyeshadow and you might even get away with NARS Orgasm for the blush– it’s in the same family. You can use the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencil in Mat Black OL, and for the lips– try MAC Lipglass in Mad Cap. Hope that helps!

Hi
This message is for Queen latifah
My aunt who is 81 has told me that we are related. I was born in the Azores in 1955. My mother and I went to Massatusattes to visit many of our relatives in 1960. I believe I may have met your Great Grandmother during that visit. The actual point of this email is that my aunt (your relative too acording to my aunt) has acute lukemea (both my mother and father passed away from this disease) My aunt would be thrilled to meet you. When she was diognoused the doctors said she would live 3 months, that was last Sept and she is still alive today. She is amazing I do my best to see her once per week because I adord her (She was the one who when my Mother died said to me I love you and will there be there for you if you need me any time any where) You would be amazed at her atitude she focuses on living she has her daily routine lives in her own home, has refused kimo, radiation etc. and is controlling her disease by eating the things that will help her blood (her daughter did the research and platelet transfusions) All in all I am so proud she is my aunt and I am happy to tell you about her. If you are interested in meeting one of the most amazing people I am proud to know and proud to be related to please let me know. I do not usually go on website and give out my email address I do not shop or bank on line so this is a big thing for me to send this e-mail. I just want to do everything I can to make her happy during the time she has left with us. I know that I am going to be a huge mess the day she leaves us. It will be just like loosing my Mother all over again. I do understand your life is very busy and do not really expect a reply

Hi Niveria,

First, I’m so sorry to hear of your family member’s illness. Unfortunately, this website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or monitored by Queen Latifah at all. So sadly, she will not receive your message. I personally am a fan of Queen’s and I try to post information regarding Queen’s products and appearances as they happen on this website, but she’s not involved here in any way. I wish you and your family well!
