Now more than ever, we have to stretch the time we have between hair coloring– whether we do it at-home or at the salon!  Believe it or not, your first line of defense against fading and stripping is sitting in your shower right now.  An excellent color-safe shampoo helps make a world of difference in how your color looks when it’s limits have been stretched, and then stretched again!  A few salon shampoos for color treated hair worth checking out:

1. White Sands Phase One Nourishing Shampoo — Formulated for blondes and brunettes, a special complex of herbal extracts micro-shield the hair to prevent color oxidation.  Leaves behind a glossy shine and a fresh, clean fragrance.  UV filters = extra insurance!

2. Jonathan Product Shampoo Weightless Smooth — This one really helps eliminate some of the negative side effects of color-treating the hair, like frizz and dullness.  The sulfate-free formula gently cleanses, adds softness (but not too soft), shine, and helps fight the frizz.

3. Redken Color Extend Shampoo — Provides defense against all of the factors that can wreck a fab color job.  Environmental aggressors, color-altering minerals in your water, and poor hair condition.  A signature Redken Fade-Resist complex locks your color in, and the bad stuff out.

4. Catwalk Fashionista Shampoo — I often think of Fashionista as “the color-safe shampoo that smells like grape candy”.  It’s gentle, creamy, smells delicious, and leaves behind a glossy sheen.
