Get your bronze on! Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder & High Shine Lip Gloss review

by Amber on April 8, 2009

in bronzer,brushes,lip gloss,new products,product reviews

It’s snowing in New York, what is up with that?  I don’t mean to brag but we don’t get pelted with snow here in So Cal and it’s mostly sunshine and palm trees year round– but it’s going to rain here!  Despite the gloomy weather, it’s time to get bronze girls, so get ready to see lots of reviews in the coming weeks about the best in bronzers and luminizers to help you get in the glow!

Don’t be afraid of the bronzer, it’s one of your bestest friends.  Here’s a really great one from Elizabeth Arden, upon first impression, it’s almost too pretty to use!

Cosmetic connesuiers will appreciate the pretty pressed shape of the Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder!   This is a fab formula with aloe vera and camomile for skin comfort and the pearl pigments aren’t too shimmery.  I love how it gives a nice backlit glow to the face, defining cheekbones and warming you up!  Also, I can’t think of too many bronzers that come with FULL size kabuki brushes, woo hoo!  Medium is the shade pictured here.  Eventhough Medium is a little too dark for my fair skin, it’s totally possible to work with it– just very lightly.  Often if things are too dark it looks kind of muddy on my skin, I didn’t have a problem once I softly dusted all of the high points on my face.  Just build carefully.

Elizabeth Arden didn’t leave out a pretty pout either!  Here’s the High Shine Lip Gloss in Maple:

In the new collection there are several new summery shades and I think Maple fits the bill.  One of the things I noticed about this lippie is that for being high shine, it’s very pigmented which can be hard to get right.  Sometimes I’ve noticed that in glosses– one may have to be sacrificed for the other.  If you like shimmer, shine, and color– check this one out.  One swipe with the doe-foot applicator and I was good to go!  A little of the High Shine Lip Gloss in Maple, a few strokes of Pure Finish Mineral Bronzer, and a coat or two of mascara– you’re pretty sun-kissed!

I really need a new bronzer for summertime here in LA. (YAY.) That one looks good. And with a brush too? Pretty awesome. I think I’d go for the lighter shade though, since I am paler than you. It looks really pretty. *sigh* Every time I check your site, I find like 500 new things I want to buy, Amber. It is baaaad for the bank account. Hee hee. :)

Hey Valerie,

I know! It is SO hard to be in this industry and not lose control! Yes– try the Fair bronzer!

I know, I love both of these items too. Totally into that bronzing powder which left my skin mucho tanned and sun kissed.
