Here comes the sun– now how’s your hair? One of the hottest looks in hair right now are beach waves, and they are so easy. Let’s not forget, they look EXCELLENT on second-day hair. So if you wake up with bedhead tomorrow you can be all “I meant to do that” and transform your locks into sexy beach hair without lookin’ like a hot mess. All 3 of these beachy-hair helpers work on wet or dry hair so the choice is yours!
1. Philip B. Maui Wowie Beach Mist — This sea salt water, aloe and coconut oil spray smells like heaven and works like a charm! Gives me ever-so-slightly tousled waves without any crunch or stiffness. Really natural hold and random little waves make me a happy girl! On slightly damp hair this really does the trick for me, let it air dry and there you have it. Now if they could just have a spray to give me a bikini model’s body as quickly and easily…
2. David Babaii For WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray — Dead Sea minerals, volcanic ash, shea butter and mango really make this beach spray rock. I actually liked this one better when misting it on top of my dry hair and giving it a little bit of a “scrunch” effect. It created tendril-like texture around my face and made it look like I didn’t have a care in the world! Too bad that’s not true…
3. Redken Color Extend Sun Sparkling Shield — This is included here because of it’s versatility! Take it to the shore or poolside and spray it in wet or dry hair to add shine and protect your hair from chlorine, minerals and UV damage. It also adds tiny little bits of shimmer so you can spray this on your beach-sprayed hair very lightly to make it look even more authentic! It smells so incredible that you’ll be sitting at your desk replying to emails and wishing that you were in Maui instead. I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t use this in a light mist as a shine serum over a blow out this summer, but heed my advice! Very sparingly!

Great post! Thank you for the recommendations. I love Philip B! (Do you have any cheaper alternatives?)
Heya Toutie,
The best least expensive (and cheapest one I can find) is actually the David Babaii for WildAid! It retails for only $9.99 and it was just announced today that as of June 1, his products will be available at Sally Beauty Supply so they will be much easier to find!

Thank you!
Where can I get the Philip b? At Sephora? If my hair smelled like coconut, i think my life would be complete
This post was so fun to read- I loved the “I was meant to do that”- cracked me up!
Hi Diesel!
Unfortch, Sephora doesn’t have Philip B., I’m not sure if you have a boutique-y beauty supply near you, you might be able to find it there. Try Beauty Studio on Polaris Parkway.
The Chocolate Milk Body Wash is also OUT OF THIS WORLD! And the Maui Wowie Beach Mist, and the… I could go on about Philip B.
