Now that we’ve discovered some great self-tanners, we have to take the next step– make them shine! I think it’s so sexy when a woman has that subtle sheen/glow on her collarbone, decolletage, and shins. It really adds a complimentary finishing touch to the overall process. It’s not just for the stars with stylists, we can rock it just as well! Summer is the perfect opportunity to strut your stuff. I’ve got some suggestions for fab body luminizers:
1. Per-fékt Body Perfection Gel — You know how a foundation primer blurs out the pores on your face and makes it look like a canvas? Body Perfection Gel gave me a similar effect with it’s dimethicone base and silky texture for my body. It comes in 3 shades and gives a slight hue of bronze along with a subtle glow. This is seriously hot.
2. Laura Mercier Body Bronzing Makeup – Sadly, this is only a limited edition item and not part of the core line but it really should be! It also offers those light-reflective particles that blur the skin for an optical illusion. The almond-coconut scent may be a little much if you’re not into fragrances like this, but don’t let that turn you completely off. Give it a sniff at the counter before you decide!
3. Leonor Greyl Huile de Magnolia — This really is a beauty treatment and instant gratification combo. You’ll get the skin conditioning benefits of pro-vitamin A and botanical oils to give your skin a slick shine, but the oils are absorbed into the skin instead of sitting on top and greasing things up! This one is also scented, very delicately of magnolia blossom but it’s the real deal! I find it really enjoyable.
4. Mario Badescu Summer Shine Lotion — Well if that name doesn’t exemplify exactly what we want, I don’t know what does! With subtle little shimmer, beeswax, vitamin A, and peanut oil it conditions the skin and works it’s magic. Mario Badescu just plain rocks.
5. Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Body Shimmer Lotion – If you are not familiar with Urban Decay’s holy grail eyeshadow, Midnight Cowboy– you might wanna check it out. It’s a huge hit that’s inspired spin-offs like the amazing Midnight Cowboy lipstick, and now the Body Shimmer Lotion. This is genius and makes it look like someone took a big kabuki brush dipped in gold dust and buffed your skin because you’re the Queen of Sheba and so worthy of worshipping! Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it also tells your skin to get with the program. The milk & honey scent is super sweet but faded quickly for me. I lurve this!
