Currently Loving: Tone Blueberry Antioxidant Body Wash

by Amber on July 2, 2009

in body wash / shower gel,new products,personal care,product reviews

It’s kind of hard sometimes to explain how great a body wash/shower gel is and why it’s worthy of your cashola.  Before shower gels became the norm, I remember how much I coveted the first few I had and it’s almost like I didn’t want to use them because they were so special.  I became so used to bar soap that left ick on my body that shower gel was seen as a privilege.  Poor, poor child.   Let’s have a moment of silence for the classic soap bar.  You are long gone, but not forgotten.

Now, there are stores that are practically devoted to their existence.  It’s kind of like picking out what top you’re going to wear for the day– “Hmm… think I’ll use cucumber melon, nah… I’m not feeling very melon-y today!”  Often I’m not even thinking about any other benefits this liquid miracle could be providing for my skin other than cleansing.  Is your current body wash working as hard as it can for you?  The next time you are in your local grocery or drugstore, take a whiff of the new Tone Blueberry Antioxidant Body Wash.  If you don’t agree with me that it smells like it could be on the shelf at a specialty bath retailer, I would be very surprised.  I would spend the usual $12-$16 for it based on the scent alone– lucky for me it’s only about $3.99!  But it’s also got antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits from blueberries and vitamins A & E.  My skin doesn’t feel tight like some others make it feel once I towel off, and the creamy lather makes me happy.  Smell it… if you like it, welcome to my world!  If you don’t, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle.

Tone has a blueberry scent now?? Oh I just adore blueberry scents in the shower (so sweet and refreshing!) so I am definitely going to be on the hunt for this one in my area. I love Tone–sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle of Soft Soap and Suave because they don’t seem to offer as many fragrance options, so I am thrilled that they have a new scent on the market! Their shower gels really have a nice, non-drying formula. Thanks for the great review! :)

Tone has always been one of my favorite body washes. They’re so luxuriously soft. If you put it in an nondescript bottle, even the most discriminating diva would be none-the-wiser. I doubt the vitamins do much, since they’re not in a form that has any staying power and will just be washed down the drain–like most body washes.

Heya Mandy!

You have an interesting point. I’m very curious to know exactly how the vitamins are able to have substantial benefits and exactly what in the formulation has the ability to make them effective and give them staying power! And I say that for all body washes. I know some have to be more effective than others. You’ve got my brain thinking about this now and if I have the opportunity to talk to a chemist about this I’ll let everyone know!

I have been searching for two of your products for months. The first products name is called, “Tone Sugar Glow Exfoliating Body Wash.” I have been looking for this product for at least 2-3 months.

The second product name is called, “Softsoap Skin Essentials Pure Cashmere Foaming Moisturizing Hand Soap.” I have been searching for this product for at least 4-5 months.

For months, I have spent a great deal of time, gas, and energy looking for these particular items. This has made many of my shopping experiences both frustrating and disappointing. I have been to stores such as Walmart, Target, Kmart, Walgreens, and different grocery stores. These products I have really enjoyed, have they been discontinued?

Sincerely,
Elizabeth McGhee

Hi Elizabeth,

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t found the products you are looking for, that is no fun :( Unfortunately, I am not employed by Tone/Softsoap and I’m not affiliated with them at all. I’m just a little ol’ beauty blogger that finds interesting products and shares my experiences with them ;) Possibly you can contact their customer service numbers or send them a message through their website asking for them to direct you to where you can find the products if they aren’t discontinued. I know I get bummed when I can’t find what I’m looking for myself, so I wish you all the best!

AmberNo Gravatar October 1, 2009 at 4:08 pm

Hi Carrie,

I’m not sure where you’re located, but I have found it available at most mass retailers like Target and WalMart– I know it’s been on sale a lot here in my area lately and it’s been out!
