The coolest lip balm you’ve never seen

by Amber on July 10, 2009

in eco-friendly beauty,lip balm,new products,product reviews

The Evolution of Smooth has ushered in a new era of lip balms, and I never would have guessed that this is how the revolution would begin!  At first look, with the cap on– one would think it’s a lip pot that you’d have to put your fingertips in to apply (eww!).  Once the lid comes off, you might be inclined to think it’s some kind of vintage Weeble Wobble.  Wrong!  This is actually a Lip Balm Smooth Sphere and it’s the coolest lip balm I’ve ever seen!

I’ve been wearing the Summer Fruit flavor for a few days now and I have to say– this balm is the bomb.  I know all lip balms are smooth, but this one is smoooooooth, feels very moist without being sticky or waxy, leaves my kisser hydrated, and glides on my lips like a knife through hot butter!  The ingredients are 100% natural, 95% organic and paraben-free.  While the flavor doesn’t linger on my lips or taste very strong, it’s more like a delish tropical fruit scent during application that goes away shortly after.  While I’m a fan of flavored lippies, it’s kinda nice to have a few that don’t make me lick them every 5 seconds involuntarily!  This sphere balm is sure to be a conversation piece when you whip it out at your desk and place it up to your lips, so if you want to avoid starting a conversation with that annoying cubicle-mate of yours I suggest picking up the same formula in a Smooth Stick instead!  Just when I thought I was a lip balm know-it-all, EOS had to go and prove me wrong.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europa (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax (Cire D’Abeille), Simmondsia Chinensis (Joioba) Seed Oil, Flavor (Aroma), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit (Extract), Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract

Smooth Sphere available in flavors Summer Fruit, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Sweet Mint
Smooth Stick available in flavors Vanilla Bean, Pomegranate Raspberry, Sweet Mint

OK, seeing as I am a seeeeerious sucker for cool packaging, this appeals to me in ways I cannot even express. I MUST order this asap. That light seafoam green color has me hypnotized, I tell you! Seriously, this is the coolest new invention in lip balm since Village Lip Slides!

PS: Weeble Wobbles are the bomb. :)

R– I am SO glad someone really gets my Weeble reference. I thought I was growing old alone or something!

I love this lip balm! My lips are sooooooooooooooooo unbelievabley sensitive to lipsticks, chaptsitcks everything. They all make my lips dry out, itch, hurt and sometimes blister it’s horrible during the winter. I bought this because of the cool packaging and assuming that it would hurt my lips. IT DOESN”T!! Can we say wow? Good product plus cool packing equals ASWESOMENESS.

The eos lip balm spheres are good. I have the summer fruit and honeysuckle honeydew. They are moisturizing and last for a pretty long time but the smell is really strong. It will give you a head ache after a while and it is way to strong.
