Review & Giveaway: Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth

by Amber on July 11, 2009

in contests / giveaways,new products,personal care,product reviews

The weather in LA right now makes it the perfect environment to test out anti-perspirants/deodorants for the site, so rest assured I’m getting some kind of sick satisfaction out of all of this.  I never claimed not to be a little on the odd side, don’t say I’ve never warned you.  Give me a deodorant with bells and whistles however, and I’ll pay extra close attention– like one that gradually minimizes the appearance of that hair under our arms?  The ones I shave everyday without fail because the hair turns mutant overnight?  Surely you jest!

Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth is making that claim, and it’s got some large boots to fill if it’s going to visibly reduce the appearance of underarm hair.  I’m on week 4 now, so let’s see how it went.

Week 1– I decided it was great for fighting wetness and controlling odor for myself and the sakes of everyone else around me around the clock.  Very minimal wet marks even on the most sweltering of days.

Week 2– No change in the underarm hair department.  I’m starting to question if these claims are true.  But what do I know?  Impatient is my middle name.

Week 3– I began to notice that the hair was becoming less coarse and seemed to look less like a porcupine had grown there in my sleep.  There is hope!

Week 4– My stubble is much softer, easier to remove when shaving, resulting in less irritation and razor bumps.  While this does not actually eliminate hair, it has made mine look finer and therefore less visible.  And to think, I almost gave up!

It may take shorter, or even a longer period of time to see a difference and performance will vary from person to person.  If you’d like to try it out, there’s a $2 off coupon on their website right now.  The worst case scenario is that you’ll wind up with a great deodorant in a Wild Rose or Nature Fresh scent so it’s not too much of a gamble!  If I were you, I’d take advantage of this awesome giveaway that Dove has sponsored for a lucky Beauty Junkie this week:

One reader will win a Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Prize Pack valued at over $100!  The prize includes:

(1) Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth plush spa robe

(1) Dove Stainless Steel Razor

I’m actually jealous of this one you guys! I want that robe! Here’s how to enter:

2. Leave a comment at the end of this post with the answer to this question (answer can be found on the Dove Facebook Page):
