Put your change back in your wallet, Sonia Kashuk has us covered

I don’t think I’ve given any of my “Why I love Target” speeches in awhile, I think it’s time.  I’ll spare you the actual speech and get to the most exciting part right away, the products!  As always, I’m excited about the new Sonia Kashuk Beauty at Target collection and I immediately gravitated towards the new lippies as any Beauty Junkie would.

The Velvety Shine Lip Crayon ($7.99) reminds me of how much I loved the Lipstick Queen Glossy Pencils, but they have a tad more opacity to them.  These of course aren’t as chunky but a little more on the practical side and so, so hydrating.  They glide over my lips, provide satin kisses of color, don’t dry my lips out, and are so shiny they could be mistaken for a gloss, easily!  I detected a trace of a vanilla scent/flavor, but nothing overpowering.

The Ultra Shine Sheer Lip Gloss ($8.99) is flat-out phenomenal, especially when paired with a Velvety Shine Lip Crayon, but equally as gorge on it’s own.  If you slapped a fancy label over Sonia Kashuk on the tube and told me it was new from one of those ridiculously expensive glam-brands, I would totally believe you and be tempted to stretch my wallet out looking for loose change to finish paying for it.  Unfortunately, they don’t have “spare change” cups on the counters at Sephora.  Could you imagine?  We’ll be spared that embarrassing moment because these little babies are available at Target, we can tuck the dust bunnies back inside our change purses.

I’m torn on which combo I like the best because the brighter pink is more on the glam side, while the pale pink is a little more chic.  The pencil in Hot Pink under the gloss in Vivacious is sweet, and the Pale Pink pencil under Flawless gloss is subdued and posh.  I love them both!  I promise you won’t see me on some “what not to do” list wearing one on the bottom lip and one on the top because I couldn’t decide.  I haven’t done that in at least 10 years!

Nice post. Just bought a crease brush from her yesterday. It works well and for $5.99, it was a great deal. I’ll try more of her products.

Hi Jennifer :) Thanks! It’s funny you say that because today I used a brush of Sonia’s I bought at Target 10 years ago and it still works like a charm!

I also like this lip crayon — I have now worn it down — do I use a “sharpener” to reveal more product?

Thank you.

Hi Carol :)

Yes, a fat sharpener will do the trick!

I’ve looked for a sharpener (and tried the ones I already have) for the lip crayon but can’t find anything that works. Suggestions?

Hi Sherry,

Oh no! The one I used for this was a $4 special I bought at Sephora. I wonder if the Sonia Kashuk section has one that will fit it? I wish I knew for sure, I’m sorry :)
