OPI Fall 2009 Espana Collection review & swatches!

by Amber on July 20, 2009

in nail care,nail polish,new products,product reviews

Ooh, I’m too excited for words right now…

espana1

espana2

I don’t think I’ve ever been so in love with a dark green nail polish before, Here Today… Aragon Tomorrow is getting a little extra love from me right now!  Here’s a closer look:

aragon1

Here’s the color breakdown:

Pink Flamenco — sassy hot pink
Ate Berries in the Canaries — fuchsia cream
Pampalona Purple — plush plum
Conquistadorbale Color — bright red
No Spain No Gain — a can’t live without berry
Here Today… Aragon Tomorrow — dark, lush emerald
Barefoot in Barcelona — creamy nude
Can You Tapas This? — rum raisin
Bullish on OPI — fiery hot red
Give Me Moor! — vampy wine
Manicurist of Seville — rich berry/dark sangria
Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees — dark grey/blue hue

I always look forward to the return of Fall, it bring such a richness back to color.  All of the luscious vampy hues in the OPI Colección de España here are a little more daring and glamorous!  I’ve got a few faves here, obviously I’m betting on the success of Here Today… Aragon Tomorrow, but Pampalona Purple has my name all over it.  I can’t deny the allure of the ever-chic Barefoot in Barcelona– there’s always something about a fleshy, creamy nude that calls out to me every time!  Which one of these new OPI nail polish shades for Fall are you digging?

My grandmother wore a dark sparkly green for years, so I think I’m going to have to get that one in homage! :) Some gorg colors there!

OMG, Here Today Aragon Tomorrow looks like the infamous and elusive NARS Zulu! I better get this ASAP because I have a feeling it’s the closest I’ll ever get to Zulu. lol.

Thanks for all the gorgeous swatches! And is it my imagination or does Pamplona Purple look a lot like My Auntie Drinks Chianti?

Heya R & Trude!

I am DYYYYYYYING to wear Aragon ASAP, but I think it may be just a tad too soon. I still want to rock a bright color once or twice more before I let Fall completely take over my nails but it is gorgeous, I could not for the life of me get a decent shot with it on to show how it really looks :( But yes girls! GRAB IT THE FIRST CHANCE YOU GET! I have a feeling this one will be gone the second it hits a counter. Pampalona does look a little bit like Chianti, you’re so right! But just a teensy more purple… of course ;)

I never thought I’d live to see the day when dark green sparkly nail polish was fashionable. I’m a die hard ESSIE girl, but these OPI colors are really fantastic…I’ll have to grab a few bottles since they’re hot off the press and do some at-home mani’s and decide which ones I’m really into, and which ones are just plain funky

Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees looks good to me… I keep thinking we gotta stick with the brights a while longer though (while we can!)

AmberNo Gravatar July 22, 2009 at 11:27 am

Hey Valerie! TOTALLY! I want to do the dark like RIGHT NOW, but then I think my brights I have right now would feel so lonely and used!

Like your blog… my vote goes to (like your blog) Give Me Moor! If you ever have a chance to visit Texas, and are near Frisco, please stop by and say hello.

I think im gonna get 6 of them: ate berries in the cannaries, conquistadorable color, no spain no gain, barefoot in barcelona, can you tapas this and manicurist of seville. Ill skip aragon cuz its not my type of color but i have to say it was tempting!!

I love OPI- BUbble bath is all time fave color! I am currently wearing can you tapas this! I am really excited to try give me moor and barefoot in barcelona! O.P.I ROCKS!

AmberNo Gravatar October 6, 2009 at 4:10 pm

Hey Jessica!

I honestly think there was a point in time where a friend of mine almost held a “Bubble Bath Intervention” for me. Several years ago, I couldn’t be without it and with every mani I received, there I was holding my bottle of OPI Bubble Bath! I KNOW I still have one in my collection, it’s an oldie but goodie! I was really impressed with this collection (Espana) and covet them all!
