The right way to get very cheeky!

by Amber on July 22, 2009

in cheek stain / blush,how-tos,new products,product reviews

I know that bronzer isn’t for EVERYONE (although hard to believe!), and at this point in Summer we may be craving a little glow with a pinch of color.  I discovered 4 easy-to-use products to help you look perfectly flushed and perky without a bronzer in sight!  You can pair these with a bronzer if you must– but these liquid cheek tints, creams, and stains should make you smile all by their lonesome.

Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Liquid Tint in Poppy — Blend this liquid tint on bare skin or over foundation and it’s the perfect shade of flush!  Available in 3 shades, but I’m loving Poppy, a vibrant watermelon-hue that’s not too bright and looks beautiful over a little bit of tinted moisturizer.

Tarte Eco-Cheek Natural Cheek Stain — Tarte knows how to do cheek stains not just right, but right on the money!  This pretty coral shimmer stain in a push-up stick just ROCKS!  It’s lightweight, it doesn’t settle in my pores, and reminds me just a little bit of the famous NARS Orgasm blush, only in a stain.  Decide for yourself!

Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm in Blushed — The bright berry color I get from this Beauty Balm is incredible!  I use this 100% natural wonder on my cheeks and lips for a complimentary punch of color that’s easy to use.  I dab a little on my cheeks and blend it in with my fingers and take what’s left on my fingertips and pop it on my lips.  You can also pick this up in other colors, but right now I’m very blush with Blushed!

CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach — If you still want a little bronze look without the hassle, give Plush Peach a shot as a bronzer alternative.  I am impressed with the blend of Olay Regenerist serum in the CoverGirl formula that conditions and hydrates the skin while giving perfect face!  It’s creamy and applies smoothly with the enclosed sponge or your fingers.  The Lush Berry shade is also fab and provides a fresh-faced pinky tone.  CoverGirl’s celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern loves this!

I LOVE my tarte cheek stain! I wasn’t thrilled at the price when I decided to try it, but I don’t regret it. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Hiya TJ!

I LOOOOOOOOVE Tarte, and their cheek stains are so good it’s ridiculous! I remember my first one like it was yesterday ;)

OK, I have been eyeing that CoverGirl/Olay blush for weeks now. What’s the staying power like? You sold me on it with words like “creamy” and “smooth”.

You’re getting me back with this one, I tell you (I’m the one spending more money now!).

Hey Recessionista :)

This lasted the WHOLE day for me and you know how horribly hot and dry it is here! It blends it really easily with my fingers which I LURVE, but I’ve also discovered in the last few days that my foundation brush makes it look more like a little wash of color which I like too! The sponge that’s included will work well the first few times and puts on more color, but to be honest I’m going to stick with the pads of my fingers or my foundation brush now. ;) I honestly don’t think I’ll ever finish using this entire container, it’s HUGE and goes so far! Tell me which one you end up with… I see you in Lush Berry too!
