Yum, yum. You know with a name like Citrine Rose Hydrating Body Wash from Ooohlala of Beverly Hills, I was pleased as punch to give it a shot in the shower! This shower gel’s formulation is a little bit different in the ingredient department than what you may be used to, and in a good way. It’s coconut based! It’s not stripping to the skin like some others can feel yet it doesn’t lather up in a super foam– which is a fair trade-off to make I think. The essential-oil based fragrance is very clean and citrus based with a subtle note of blue rose, so if you’re scared of rose thinking it will be reminiscent of eau de Grandma– no worries there! It’s feminine and delicate, I didn’t find it to linger or interfere with my fragrances which is always a plus.
I also had a chance to try out the Citrine Rose Body Lotion which shared a similar scent to the body wash, and that one tended to linger a little since the lotion is actually applied on the skin and not rinsed away. Upon my first glance at the ingredients, I thought it couldn’t actually be a “lotion” consistency and it had to feel more like a body butter after seeing shea and cocoa butters, beeswax, and coconut, sunflower, grape seed and sweet almond oils too. Surprisingly it did have the viscosity of a lotion and soaked right in, it doesn’t feel sticky or greasy.
If eco-friendly beauty products are important to you and you enjoy fresh citrus based notes, these might be right up your alley! I was just checking out some other really cute bath products from Ooohlala like these beauty bath bombs, now I’ve gotta try the Sweet Dreams…
