It’s inevitable that occasionally I’ll stumble across a beauty product that’s not for me, despite how much love I have for just about all of them. This my dolls, was one of them– the CVS Pharmacy 5 Minute Whitening Gel Tooth Whitening System. This was a quickie impulse purchase because of the price and may or may not have been sparked by a recent random comment from my husband that he can tell I’ve been drinking a lot of coffee lately! It was only $5.99– and that made it extremely attractive sitting on the shelf next to smile whitening kits over $20. Plus, it seemed easy– 5 minutes rocks! Show me something that works or a dinner I can cook in 5 minutes and I’m all over it, so I got suckered in by that!
Ahh, but for me– it was not an easy 5 minutes to suffer through. The gel is really thick and gooey, and tastes Gross with a capital G. You apply the gel to the “Duplex Mouth Tray” and pop it in for 5 minutes, then rinse. I didn’t find any specific time frame on exactly how many days you are supposed to impose this yuck on yourself other than “Repeat until you achieve your desired shade of white”. After 3 nights, I gave up. And believe me– I’m no quitter! I’ll suffer a little for beauty and for whiter teeth. But night after night after night until who knows when? Nope. This funky tasting gunk won’t be taking up any of my precious beauty loot real estate any longer. If it had a better taste– perhaps mint, I would have toughed it out. But I’ve since moved on to greener pastures and started using the Crest Advanced Seal system a few days ago, I can tell you my experience is about 100 times more better already! That review will be coming up in a few weeks and will be taking place of the favorable review I wish I could have given this one!
