If you’re suffering from acne, (I’m talking about more than the occasional pimple here) and you’ve tried every lotion, potion, and trick out there– it’s time for plan B. Have you ever considered that your hair products could be contributing to the problem? It’s true, and commonly overlooked as a factor! According to Kairos Acne Care Solutions Hair:
Though you may be careful not to apply hair care products close to your hairline, the truth is that some of what is put onto hair ultimately ends up on the face. There are several ways this inevitable and unavoidable transfer of product occurs:
•Product “runs” down in the shower, or throughout the course of the day
•During application (especially sprays)
•Hair is touched by hands, and then subsequently hands touch the skin
•Hair lies on skin (even hair near the skin can aggravate acne)
•There are dangerous oils from hair care products and acne-causing bacteria that are transferred back and forth from your hair to your pillow case to your face and surrounding areas. When your face, neck, back and chest lie against these oils, it greatly increases the risk of acne.
Food for thought, huh? I am completely on-board this train of thought, especially if you’ve spent a small fortune and have resorted to drastic measures to eliminate your acne and it hasn’t worked. At that point you really don’t have too much to lose! I’m fortunate and extremely grateful that I seem to have passed my pimple-prone phase earlier in life and typically only experience a breakout session here and there which can usually be tamed by a few of my fave products, so I can’t offer a personal testimonial to the efficacy of Kairos haircare products. But I will say that as a former skincare professional, I would look in to this line as a partial solution and consider making the change to haircare products that are less likely to contribute to acne than what you may currently be using! Kairos offers an entire line of products including shampoo and conditioner, a treatment, and styling and finishing products that contain known complexion-clearing ingredients. Hair care products can irritate your skin. I went to a salon that used a brand of shampoo that made me break out on my forehead. Needless to say I did not go back to the salon.
