With lipstick coming back in such a major way this Fall, parting with our precious lip glosses isn’t such an easy thing to do! Bobbi Brown’s new Rich Color Glosses can make it easier to have the best of both worlds– the full color of a lipstick that’s so “in” again, and the familiar texture of a shiny gloss that we’ve all become so accustomed to. Eight shades of Rich Color Gloss with pale, neutral, bright, and deep color options should satisfy all of us makeup mavens and deliver the looks we’re going for! Here are the new color selections:
• Naked
• Ruby Red
• Pink Raspberry
• Merlot
• Dusty Rose
• Melon
• Tutu
• Pink Buff
I had a chance to wear this formula and I have to say I was taken by surprise with how comforting the texture felt, it almost felt like I wasn’t wearing a gloss– but that I was wearing a hydrating balm on my lips instead. Typically, anything for the lip that’s densely pigmented has a somewhat drying-effect, but I didn’t experience that at all with the Rich Color Gloss. Major kudos in that area!
I also appreciated the slight minty flavor and cooling feel of the gloss, and I can’t forget how long-wearing it was! With “Pink Buff” (my fave of the bunch), I was able to get several hours of wear before I felt like it was time to wipe the remainder and start all over. This is a full-color, high-shine gloss that wears like a liquid lipstick– so it should last longer on the lip than your everyday gloss. I didn’t think it felt “gummy” or sticky at all, but then again– we all have our own interpretations of that. You’ll see the swatches for “Pink Buff” and “Melon” above, but I’d really love to try “Ruby Red” and “Merlot” as well! I’m curious to see how the traditionally deeper shades wear with a formula like this. If you’re a slave to the gloss, but want full color like sometimes only a lipstick can provide– I would give these a shot!
