Heidi Klum for VS Makeup Exotic Jewels

Stunning!  Last month when I had a sneak peek at the new Heidi Klum for VS Makeup Exotic Jewels collection, I about went loco for the colorful Indian-themed packaging.  The gold, the colors, the luxe!  The color palette is perfect for that purple-themed holiday season I spoke of recently (we’ll be seeing it A LOT!), and all of the products are sparkling and special in their own way.  I also can’t believe that the prices of each piece aren’t more than what they are retailing for.  I don’t have reviews of all of the products in Exotic Jewels unfortunately, but I do have a few of them to share, so keep reading!  First, here’s what’s included in the complete collection:

Lip Gloss — Passion Fruit, $14
Perfect Lipstick — Exotic Spice, $16
Glitter Liquid Liner — Majesty, $12
Luminous Face Powder Gems — Moonstone, $22
Eyeshadow Palette — Hidden Palace, $24
Extra-lengthening Mascara — Amethyst, $13

This Heidi collection is pretty personal:

Inspired by Heidi’s life-changing trip to the spiritual city of Varanasi, India, it’s her most personal creation yet. The collection interprets her exotic discoveries into a sparkling and rich palette of irresistible shades in packaging as beautiful and precious as Heidi’s favorite jewels.

What I tried, I LOVED.  Let’s start off with a peek at the Luminous Face Powder Gems:

These illuminating powder spheres remind me somewhat of the pricey Guerlain Meteorites!  This blend of pinks, champagnes, and nudes help brighten and balance, adding a little bit of a moonlit glow to your skin.  Swirl a brush in the cup and lightly dust it on all of the high points of your face, and while you’re at it– try your collar bone and decolletage.  Super sultry! *wink*

Next up, check out the Perfect Lipstick in Exotic Spice:

Heidi Klum Exotic Spice Perfect Lipstick

Exotic Spice is the perfect nude glimmer to compliment more dramatic eye looks without going overboard, and it’s a great everyday color as well that’s office friendly since the subtle glimmer isn’t exactly glittery.  The texture is creamy and moist and didn’t dry my lips at all.

And now for the eyes:

Exotic Jewels Glitter Liquid Liner "Majestic"

"Amethyst" Extra-Lengthening Mascara

Did you know that Amethyst is my birthstone?  So you know I’m going to love this purple-hued glitter liquid eyeliner and colored mascara!  The thing I really love about the Glitter Liquid Liner in Majesty is that it doesn’t scream that I’m an old lady trying to relive my 20′s in a disco-tech.  It’s ever so subtle when the light hits it just right, and when it does– it brings out the green in my eyes.  I also didn’t find that I was picking flakes of glitter off of my face all day.  As for the Extra-lengthening Mascara in Amethyst, it really is not as vibrant as it looks on the wand unless you apply it over a lash primer that’s white first.  While I might not personally wear the liner or mascara in an office setting, they’re not so outrageously obvious that they’re completely inappropriate in my opinion.  Victoria’s Secret Beauty’s theme this holiday is “A thousand fantasies”, and I’ve got more gorgeous VS Beauty items to feature in the next few weeks, I look forward to sharing them with you!
