I wanted to step outside of the box today as far as eye looks go since it’s Halloween, I’m a little bit more on the conservative eyeshadow side for normal everyday eyes!  This morning I had a chance to work with one of the new Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duos in “Make Believe”, a pretty combo of shimmery silver/periwinkle shades.

Hard Candy "Make Believe"

I know!  Everyone in unison… “Oooooooooh!”  Below are swatches of “Make Believe” with and without an eyeshadow primer.  Even without primer, the shadow isn’t powdery at all and the payoff is pretty darn good.  These worked beautifully wet too!

"Make Believe"

Hard Candy was recently re-vamped and is available at Walmart and walmart.com for crazy-good prices.  Nouveau Cheap has been sharing her Hard Candy haul over the past few weeks and she was literally stalking the employee as the products were going out on launch day!  Now that my friends, is true Beauty Junkie dedication!    There are 14 fun color palettes of baked duos to choose from and some are more intense than others.  In my opinion, they’ve done a great job of keeping the original vibe of Hard Candy intact from back in the day– a playful and dynamic selection of colors and products at about 1/2 the price of the vintage line, even better.  Baked eyeshadows are awesome, the pigment payoff is usually better than pans and I feel like I get more for my money.  I have never physically been able to go through an entire pot of baked eyeshadow, it’s like they’re the gift that keeps on giving!

Simple how-to using “Make Believe”:

1. Lighter shade from lid to brow bone
2. Darker shade on lid and blend into crease with a little bit of darker color concentration on outer corner of lid and crease
3. With wet liner brush, use lighter color along lash line (super pretty silver foil color result)
4. Smudge darker color all along bottom lash line

Did you ever own any of the original Hard Candy products?  I remember my first purchase like it was yesterday!  I vividly remember drooling over the old pale opaque lavender nail polish on my lunch breaks when I would go browsing in the mall.  I was about 19 and the thought of spending that much money on a nail polish at the time was crazy talk!  I was in my first apartment and every cent was sacred, but I did it anyway because I could not handle the temptation for one more lunch hour.  And the rest is history!

I’ve got something EXTRA sweet lined up tomorrow for you, don’t miss it!

An editorial sample was provided by the company and evaluated to determine my opinion of the product in this post.  Please see the Disclosures page for further information regarding my policies for using press samples.

OMG! Amber, first of all, thank you for the link love! xo Second, those colors look absolutely STUNNING on you! Seriously, for a gal that rocks the more conservative looks during the day, you can really pull it out when you want to! I seriously cannot believe how gorgeous that blue looks on you. I am so jealous! And WOW, that eyeshadow looks fab (and the price!). I am seriously regretting not picking up one of those baked duos on my recent haul. Guess it’s back to Walmart for me! :)

Hey R!

Awww, thanks sweetie! :) I reeeeallly liked the baked duos, I didn’t have any real shadow “fallout” and they were pretty bullet-proof. So you may want to go back and get one… or five.
