An Anesthesiologist's Solution To Bikini Waxing Pain

Who dreads a bikini wax?  Maybe I should ask who doesn't dread a bikini wax!  I'm a true believer that if it's done correctly by a seasoned pro, the pain is definitely minimized and it's not as bad of an experience as it's feared to be.  But it still hurts!  I've had my share of ...

Review: bareMinerals Sweet Obsessions Eyecolor Collection

by Amber on November 4, 2009

in eyeshadow,how-tos,makeup,new products,product reviews

bareMinerals Sweet ObsessionsI was trying so hard to wait until a little bit closer to Thanksgiving to post this holiday release from bareMinerals, but I’ve had so much fun playing with it that I couldn’t wait!  Sweet Obsessions is a nine-piece eyeshadow collection enclosed in what opens up to look like a box of chocolates, inside the foil candy cups are some pretty sweet bareMinerals eyecolors.  Here’s the color breakdown:

• Strawberry Mousse Eyecolor– frothy pink glimmer
• Berry Custard Eyecolor– raspberry mousse glimpse
• Berry Flambe Eyecolor– deep violet glimmer
• Lemon Meringue Eyecolor– citrus cream glimpse
• Spiced Biscotti Eyecolor– zesty pumpkin glimmer
• Cherry Coco Truffle Eyecolor– dark cherry chocolate glimmer
• Mint Eyecolor– light spearmint glimpse
• Dark Chocolate Eyecolor– moonlit mocha glimpse
• Creme de Menthe Eyecolor– emerald espresso glimmer

Sweet Obsessions

The most important part, the swatches!

Sweet Obsessions

LOVE!  I definitely have some favorites in here– hands down, Creme de Menthe rocked my socks off!  I’m very partial to Cherry Coco Truffle and Berry Flambe too.  The chameleon-like quality of Creme de Menthe is stunning, and Cherry Coco Truffle and Berry Flambe are just those decadent, rich hues with irresistible glimmer I gravitate towards anytime they’re in my sights.

Sweet Obsessions

Despite these being the extra-small jars, there’s plenty to get you by for quite awhile, trust me!  If you’ve ever used a bareMinerals eyeshadow before, you know it’s got a long and happy lifespan in your casa.  I think $48 is a super fair price to pay for a set of nine limited-edition eyeshadows, especially when they’re as yummy and decadent as these are.  Included inside the candy box are three tutorials for quick & pretty eye looks, I was immediately drawn to the “Mint Chocolate Mirage” look as you can tell!

Mint Chocolate Mirage

What shades in Sweet Obsessions are your faves?  Tell me what color combos you’d use!

OMG, ok first of all, how incredibly adorable is that packaging? You know I’m a packaging hoor, so I’m already sold on that alone. :) Next, Creme de Menthe is GORGEOUS. I love that duochrome-ish effect so much, and it looks stunning on you as a liner. Wow. xo

Thanks R, my lovely!

My next adventure will be to foil Creme de Menthe on my lid… it’s too tempting not to! Looks like we’re all voting for the same one so far ;) We’ll be begging Leslie to bring it back in no time at this rate!

I like these, they look like they’ve got some “guts”! I’ve bought B.E. eyeshadows before and sometimes they are too light for my liking. These look amazing!

Hi Shauna!

I thought the paler colors would be too light too and look a little opaque– but really these rocked! You can totally rock these ;)
