An Anesthesiologist's Solution To Bikini Waxing Pain

Who dreads a bikini wax?  Maybe I should ask who doesn't dread a bikini wax!  I'm a true believer that if it's done correctly by a seasoned pro, the pain is definitely minimized and it's not as bad of an experience as it's feared to be.  But it still hurts!  I've had my share of ...

A peek at my personal holiday Wish List!

by Amber on December 2, 2009

in fun stuff

I’m hoping that my husband Santa will see this and take a few clues this year.  He’s the sweetest guy in the world, but unfortunately shopping for gifts isn’t exactly his forte!  I’m not asking for all of these things, in fact–I would be happy with just one. (HONEST!)  Can you believe that only one of the things on my personal wish list this year is beauty-related?  Someone check my temperature…I must not be feeling well!

BlackBerry Bold 9700 — Sorry–I know it’s not an iPhone, I hope you don’t hate me now!  I’ve just always been a BlackBerry person so hold your fire, I’ve got nothing against Apple!  I’m dying to update my little BlackBerry Pearl with 3G network Wi-Fi, visual voicemail and video capabilities.

Jilbere Ceramic Travel Hair SetterIf you’ve ever seen my hair, you know it lacks body and the ability to hold a curl for more than an hour without substantial effort.  I’m hoping that these nifty jumbo hot rollers will help me since I can just leave them in to cool down and set while I’m putting on my makeup.  Plus, those butterfly clips on the rollers are SO much better than those flimsy little metal things!

Flip MinoHD Camcorder — I’m likely one of the few bloggers that does not own some kind of camcorder!  Since I’m not super tech-savvy, a Flip seems like the best way to go since it’s so easy to use with it’s built-in software for viewing and sharing.  It’s cute and compact, you can even personalize them with your own images and patterns!

Tempur-Pedic SidePillow –  I don’t think I’ve ever known what real beauty-rest was until we purchased a new mattress with a memory-foam topper a few months ago!  The second I put my head on a Tempur-Pedic pillow in the store, I was sold immediately.  I’m a side-sleeper and I could use the extra neck support, this will be perfect for me!

NIRVANA Live at Reading CD/DVD — I was a teenager in the early 90′s (Please don’t do the math!) and have been a huge Nirvana fan ever since I heard Nevermind for the first time.  This amazing 1992 Reading UK concert was ranked #1 in Kerrang’s “100 Gigs That Shook The World” and was voted “Nirvana’s #1 Greatest Moment” by an NME poll.  I might end up buying this for myself before Santa even has a chance!

To be perfectly honest, I already have the best gifts of all–and more than I could ever ask for.  My husband and I just adopted a very healthy, sweet, and loving 4 year-old part Siamese kitty named Cocoa that talks our heads off and opens closet doors when she thinks we’re not looking.  I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful home, and great friends & family.  Anything else would just be icing on the cake!  What’s on your wish list this year?

Don’t feel bad. I’m the only other one on the planet without a portable video camera. Ours is so old it has no jacks for the computer, and records onto Hi-8 tape. I’ve been wanting a Flip forever, and scored one on Cyber Monday from Amazon for $152, free shipping, and a $25 Amazon gift card. i got the 8gb version as well, but got the Ultra HD instead of the MinoHD. I didn’t see enough dfferences to justify the price difference. The gift card option is gone, and the price is up to $160, but still a pretty good deal. Point Santa over there!

Hey Robyn!

That was an amazing deal you scored! I’m kinda jealous ;) I’m still going to let Santa know! Thanks :)
