There’s big news in the beauty biz today! WWD broke the story that Julia Roberts has signed a deal with Lancome to become their newest “global ambassadress”. The Hollywood A-lister joins the ranks of Anne Hathaway and Kate Winslet who have been featured in campaigns for the major global beauty brand.
“By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time,” said Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International. “Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible.” – via WWD.com
I’m really happy for her, I think she’s a great choice for a face of Lancome. She lives a quiet life with her husband and children in Taos, New Mexico–which I know seems far from the jet-setting life of an A-lister, but I actually admire that about Julia! With two new films in 2010, we’re sure to be seeing more of her soon. I’m looking forward to the screen-adaption of the popular Elizabeth Gilbert memoir Eat, Pray, Love where Roberts will play the role of Gilbert.
