Review: Dior DiorShow Extase Mascara

by Amber on December 20, 2009

in makeup,mascara,new products,product reviews

In the past, I’ve been convinced that Dior is withholding some mascara secret from the rest of the world–I’m absolutely in LOVE with several of their formulas.  One of my Holy Grail mascaras is DiorShow Iconic, it’s one of the best in my opinion for definition.  The newest in the DiorShow family (and in my makeup vanity) is Extase, currently a Sephora Beauty Insider Exclusive and smokin’ hot!

First, I think the tiered brush is fabulous.  The shape allows me to grab several lashes at once and doesn’t miss the tiny ones on both the inner and outer corners.  It’s a nice glossy black that doesn’t look dry, and I had zero flaking.  It lengthened, thickened, curled, and defined my lashes with little effort on my part other than applying a few coats.  I haven’t been using it long enough to speak to any of the treatment benefits, but my lashes do not feel brittle or dry after makeup removal.  I’d love to see what the end result is after several weeks of use, as Dior has a patented ceramide formula in Extase, SR 38.

The brush:

The before & after:

A single swipe on my top lashes had me sold, but two was great, and three was perfect with no eyelash curler required.  With continued use, DiorShow Extase might be well on it’s way to becoming one of my HG mascaras.  What’s your fave HG mascara?

this mascara is awesome. I have gone through a million mascaras, but this one stands out because it really does help grow your lashes thicker with virtually no breakage when you wash it off. Warm water pretty much melts it off but it doesn’t smudge at all. My lashes are the longest and fullest they’ve ever been.
