Do you have problems with achieving a smoky eye look? It’s one of the biggest beauty challenges that I’m trying to overcome. It’s so hard for me due to the shape of my eyes, and I have a hard time doing the blend, blend, and then blending some more so that I don’t look like I have a bruise for an eye instead. Also, finding the perfect complementary colors for the smoky eye can be a challenge. I put Urban Decay’s new Smoke Out Kit to the test to see if I could accomplish it without a hitch, so here we go!
The kit is a super-cute chunky rectangle that contains 4 eyeshadows, a brush, a mini 24/7 liner in Zero (the BEST black eyeliner, ever!), a mini Skyscraper Mascara, a mirror, and a step-by-step instruction card that’s in a cute and sneaky little pull-out drawer. The whole kit is magnetized, so it will fold back up into it’s chunky rectangle to take up less space in your makeup drawer. Because more room for more eyeshadow is always a good thing! Here’s Sweet Lucy:

I absolutely think the eyeshadow pigments Urban Decay uses are phenomenal—rich, extremely blendable, and long-lasting. This little kit does not disappoint in that area at all. I love the little brush for working with the darker shadows in the kit, but it’s so small you might not have much luck using it for all four colors to complete an entire eye. Also, I prefer not to use the same brushes I use with my lighter colored eyeshadows with my darker ones. That may sound a little OCD! I used my own brushes for the nude and the white shadow, and the tiny one in the kit for the black and charcoal, and that’s what worked best for me. Like I said earlier, ZERO is one of the best black eyeliners ever—it’s creamy and waterproof, so easy to use on the wetline! The instructions were easy to follow, and I was impressed with Skyscraper Mascara. It’s a nice glossy jet black and really lengthens and separates.

The Smoke Out Kit comes in Sweet Lucy (black/grey), Yerba (deep greens), and Ju-Ju (neutral/browns) and retails for $34. I give this one a thumbs up!
