Sneak Peek: Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows

Ladies, this will be the palette to own for eyeshadow connoisseurs this spring!  Exclusively for Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland featuring Johnny Depp, Urban Decay is introducing an extremely limited Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows!  I don’t have a ton of info on it at the moment and I haven’t seen it firsthand (yet), but I’m very excited!  From what I understand, it’s got a gorge 3D pop-up scene and 16 of Urban’s most popular shades from their famous eyeshadow collection–but with a twist…all of the shades have been renamed as “topsy turvy” names from the film.  One of the things I love about makeup is that it’s one of the rare things in life that doesn’t have to be so serious and stuffy all the time, and this collection seems like it’s going to bring plenty of fun that’s not child’s play!  Also included will be two mini 24/7 Eye Pencils and a mini Eyeshadow Primer Potion.  I’m usually not the kind of person that purchases movie merchandise, but I will purchase this just to tuck away to have when I’m old and grey, and I’ll be seeing Alice in Wonderland in 3D for sure!  How about you?

Be sure to check out the OPI Alice in Wonderland nail polish collection here.

UPDATE:  Hey dolls, I JUST found out that Urban Decay will be selling these FIRST on UrbanDecay.com this Friday, 1/15.  I don’t have any other retailer info at this time but I’ll be sure to update as soon as I do!

UPDATE: 1/22 A little birdie told me that another little birdie told her that the Alice in Wonderland palette *might* be available for order by phone today at Sephora!  (1-877-SEPHORA)

UPDATE: 1/27 She’s currently available on Sephora.com, but making her way to Canada and the UK soon

I love Alice in Wonderland and I love Tim Burton! So I will definately be seeing this! What most people dont know is that it isnt “Alice in Wonderland” its the second book of Alice in Wonderland called “Though The Looking Glass” so I’m interested in knowing what happens next!

As for the palette… I already told my husband there’s no way in hell he’s stopping me from buying this palette LOL!

I was disappointed to find out that it wasnt going to be released on Dec 28th last year. Booo. I’m so impatient!

Hey Zel! Thanks for letting me know that it’s the 2nd book, I didn’t know that! It looks like I already have most of those shades from the photo, but I don’t care. I want this more for sentimental value and I have a feeling it will be sweeter in person! Your hubby just has to understand about this for sure.

ndoodles, I’m hoping there will be enough to go around! If you see it, PLEASE let us know!

I never realized just how badly I am addicted to make up and skin care products until I went on a 3 week crusade spanning several continents to purchase an Urban Decay Limited Edition Book of Shadows, Part 2, without success. That make up set was literally in my thoughts 24-7. Finally, I met the owner of a make up store who was all sold out of the item but he did have a brand new, never used or tested, tester of the kit which he gave to me as a gift. This set is exactly like the one sold in the stores except the cover of the kit was plain, instead of being designed. What makes this journey even sicker is that I never have tried Urban Decay products before but became obsessed with their eyeshadows when I saw a picture of this kit on the Sephora website. Now I’m hooked. I don’t want to have to endure another frantic search when the Alice and Wonderland Book of Shadows is released so I’m counting on you to keep us all apprised of “the date” of release so we can keep our running shoes close at hand for a sprint to the nearest Sephora to be first in line the second we hear they have hit the shelves. For many, this kit may contain just more of the same with renamed shadows and different packaging, but for me, a newbie to the brand, it’s a gift from heaven.

This is the first time I’ve been to this site and just signed up as a member. My name is Diane and I look forward to getting to know others who’s eyes start spinning like they’re possessed whenever they get within a block of a Sephora store.

Hi Diane :)

Welcome aboard! You’re no newbie around here, sounds like you’ve been part of this sisterhood for a long time! Wow, you are truly dedicated…where did you go looking for that coveted Book of Shadows? Sounds like fun :P

There’s something about the texture of Urban’s shadows that I think can’t accurately be described, the color saturation is always killer and I haven’t been disappointed yet, so that’s just part 1. Part 2– they always have great palettes and gift sets that seem to have colors in them I actually love and use instead of a few others where I buy the palette and I use 2 of the shades to death, and then sit and look at the rest like I’m stockpiling them for a war! To have a little bit of “fantasy” added to that mix with this Alice in Wonderland palette makes it worth it to me. Make sure you sign up for the update on it’s availability on the UD site– the link is in the post ;) If for some reason you find out before I do…let me know!

Hi there.
I’d love to buy this palette, but I live in Canada. The UD site says they don’t ship internationally.. :(
Any idea if Sephora in Canada will get this palette online or??
Thanks.

Hi Brynn,

Gosh, good question! I honestly couldn’t even speculate. I’ll see if I can find anything out, and if I learn anything I will report back. Supposedly, other retailers aren’t allowed to sell it until after February 3rd, but I would keep checking your Sephora Canada site in the search bar. They are famous for “hiding” things from us on their site until they are supposed to go live. Keep checking daily!

I JUST saw this on twitter from Urban Decay:
@ UrbanDecay411 UK, Canada don’t fret… Alice is coming… Canada – Alice should hit stores first week of February. She’ll make her debut come March, UK!
