Golden Girls: Top 5 Beauties From The 2010 Golden Globe Awards

As a week of forecasted rain began in Los Angeles, the biggest fashion accessory on the red carpet at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards last night was an umbrella!  Mother Nature tried to steal the thunder from these best-dressed beauties, but was unsuccessful in her attempts.  I really felt like there wasn’t much of a “theme” in the night’s fashion, between lots of neutrals with the occasional pop of color, and classic dresses looking gorgeous among more structured gowns–we saw it all!  Here are my picks for Golden Globe Red Carpet winners:

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Sandra Bullock

In my favorite dress of the night, Sandra Bullock is my choice for best dressed. I also love the deep side part hairstyles she’s been wearing lately, they’re so dreamy…and her husband isn’t so bad himself! She took home a Golden Globe for her role in The Blind Side.

Christina Aguilera appears backstage at the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards

Christina Aguilera

Christina’s peach Versace gown was fabulous, but that’s not why I chose her–I think her new look is what did it for me overall. Xtina’s short blonde bob paired with neutral makeup screams screen-siren, and makes me swoon!

67th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Press Room

Mo’nique

Stunning.  Mo’nique may have won for Precious, but if there were an award to be won for being Goddess of The Globes, she would have won!  Her gilded gown made her shine.

HBO's Post Golden Globe Awards Party - Arrivals

Drew Barrymore

Simple and sophisticated glamour wins Drew a spot here, makeup artist Debra Ferullo chose COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire and COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Blush in Plush Peach to pair with Dior Addict Lipstick in Hollywood Rose. Great choices for her fair skin that don’t even try to take away from her champagne Atelier Versace gown.

Emily Blunt

In Dolce & Gabbana, Emily Blunt brought the stars out on a soggy red carpet!  That dress was literally made for her, it fits like a glove.

I love your post-awards show reviews!! I noticed that so many women were wearing pastel peachy and champagne colors this year (love it). But I always love a great pop of intense color and that purple dress was stunning on Sandra, for sure. Did you see Halle? Va va voom! It was almost a breath of fresh air to see a black dress after all these delicate pastels.

One thing I have to say about Drew: When she was accepting her award, all i kept thinking was, “It looks like she’s got a pin cushion on her shoulder.” lol! Sometimes I guess I just don’t get high fashion. :)

Thanks R! You kill me, pin cushion? You brought out the LOLs!!! Halle was pretty spectacular, per usual. I’m just so bored with black dresses!

Hi ndoodles! :)

Dare I say it’s “superb”? It has just the right amount of ruffles too. I can’t even imagine how much it cost, it was a one-of-a-kind deal…if you can call Dolce & Gabbana a deal!

wow – a lot of neutrals!- gold, pale pinks, nude and peach tones. Love Christina’s dress – absolutely stunning. I would have loved Drew’s dress without the puffy accessories. Nicole and Monique both look classic.

Hi MaryBeth! I keep hearing that about Drew’s dress too, it’s pretty different as far as embellishments go.
