I was really excited to try out the new Rimmel London Glam’Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara after reading the product description and seeing the swanky tube, they stated a good case in favor of Rimmel! Here’s what they say:
Feather soft soufflé formula is oxygen permeable to allow lashes to breathe. Long lasting – Smudge and flake-proof. 2X more intense kohl black pigments. Up to 80% longer lashes – perfectly defined, no clumps.
Sounds pretty inviting, right? Which then made me think of DiorShow BlackOut Mascara, it’s almost blacker than black and gives a lot of length and definition. The anticipation was nearly killing me when I pulled the wand out to take a swipe, and there it was–the funkiest brush! Well, okay, maybe not that funky, I’ve used Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes before and we all know that’s truly a pretty funky ball-shaped brush. Lash Flirt is different though, it’s got these long teeth that have quite a bit of space in between them and alternate with a row of short stubby teeth:
And the verdict? It was just okay, I wasn’t completely knocked out of the park, but I didn’t completely dislike it either because Lash Flirt has it’s pros and cons.
While it does fan out the lashes and add a little length, it’s not too spectacular in the volumizing department. Also, the brush can be a little tricky–I was having a difficult time avoiding touching my lids with it! If I were wearing a full eye-look, I’d be pretty bummed if I had a mascara wipe-out at the last minute. On the bright side–I love that it’s such a glossy blue-black and that the formula really is very moist, it didn’t flake which is always a plus. In all honesty, I wouldn’t go totally out of my way to buy this in place of any of my other mascaras. There might be room for improvement in this brush! *insert sad face here* I am curious however to see how this would do as a topcoat to a volumizing mascara. The way it fans out could add that little doe-eyed finish on the outer corners and the formula is thin enough not to weigh down the lash…sounds like I just came up with an idea! What’s your fave mascara? Do tell!
