The chances are, you’ve been perusing the beauty aisles lately and you’ve spotted this space-age looking foundation from Maybelline, Instant Age Rewind The Eraser Treatment Makeup. And if you haven’t yet, here ya go! I’m going to take you on a little guided tour and share my experiences with it, sound good?
Let’s start with the applicator, it’s quite unique–I think we’d all agree! It’s a plush microfiber sponge that has millions of tiny antimicrobial microfibers to apply the product. I didn’t want to like this idea at first, but after twisting the collar at the neck of the bottle clockwise, I got kinda hooked! It took about 10 clicks to get it started, but after the initial flow begins, you might not want to get too click happy with it as a pretty decent amount comes out with a single click.
The applicator is even softer than it looks, and I was really surprised with how easily it laid the foundation down on my skin! I did not find the need to blend any further with my fingers, a foundation brush, or a sponge. When I had started out, I feared the applicator was just a gimmick and that I’d end up doing twice the work—I stand corrected! I didn’t have any uneven application problems, but I could see where you might if you accidentally try to apply with too much on the tip. Keeping that in mind, I was able to apply and blend very easily without incident.
In regards to the formula, I give it major kudos for the fact alone that it has an SPF 18, but Instant Age Rewind Foundation also contains Goji berry, a powerful antioxidant/super fruit known for it’s abilities to defend the skin against environmental aggressors to help prevent premature aging. I honestly couldn’t tell you if the concentration of Goji berry in here is enough to provide an anti-aging benefit since it’s definitely a cumulative result, and obviously I haven’t been using it long enough to speak to that result specifically. However, I will say that it doesn’t hurt! If a foundation is offering up antioxidants, then I’m all for it. The texture of this liquid gives a decent amount of buildable coverage and makes my skin look pretty fresh, soft, and happy.
I could see where more combination/oily skin types may not be too crazy about this as it’s pretty moist. If you’re someone with enlarged pores who doesn’t normally wear a primer with foundation, I strongly recommend using one with The Eraser. (Maybelline has a new one called Instant Age Rewind Primer Skin Transformer) In my case, I experienced that it settled in my pores without primer, but with primer–it seemed to softly diffuse the depth of them which is always a welcome optical illusion! It made my skin look bright and healthy, diffused the look of my pores, offered medium coverage, and toned down quite a bit of redness in my skin while making it feel extremely soft to the touch. In being realistic about my expectations of just how much age a foundation can actually “rewind”, I actually like this product.

I am a 58 yr. old with some desert dry skin issues. This more than hid them, the light age spots and everyone (in L.A., no less) asked me what I do to my skin to look so young. Told them and they couldn’t believe it.
IMHO, the benefits far outweigh the “ick factor” of a re-usable sponge. Replaced mine when it was half gone.
I love this product. Fair skinned and freckles. Now some age spots. I am a very young 50. Love the application and coverage. I live in FL, and it does not run down my face.

I bought this product yesterday and used it the first time this moring, I absolutely LOVE it!! I couldn’t wait to try it after reading some reviews and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed! It is amazing! Amazing coverage and goes on so light and smooth! I have FINALLY found my perfect foundation!
I am only just in my 30s but have very sensitive skin. I love this foundation. My face feels great after using it. It holds for hours and doesn’t rub off. Very thrilled and I will keep using it
got this yesterday and it took 35(I counted) clicks before any product showed up, so I wasn’t too happy about that. I do like the application, its easy and smooth. I do like how my skin looks I almost think it does smooth out the wrinkles..however I am not pleased with the color. I matched it up with my other color that I used(from another line but holding bottle next to this bottle) and its much lighter then what I wanted. I amthinking/hoping I can return it to go with a darker color…just not sure at this point what color to go with!
I honestly cannot believe that people like this product! I’m angry every time I look at mine, for the blatant lying of the ad and for the $10 (at Target, probably would have been more elsewhere) I spent on it. I have a cheap cover stick that I got for $3 that works better than this! It is supposed to help cover dark circles but it absolutely does not. I now have so much of this product that I’ve tried using it as all-over foundation but notice a huge difference between that and my regular mineral foundation. It’s absolutely awful and I would recommend literally any other foundation at much lower prices! I have never written a scathing review like this but feel so very let down by this product that I feel this strongly.

Yikes! Sounds like you didn’t have a great experience with this. I think we all have that one product (or three) that we look at and wonder what we were thinking when we bought it! I’m no exception to that for sure

When I first got this product I put in on over moisturizer, my face look really dry when I looked at my self outside. I like a natural look to my skin. Then I washed it off and put on a primer before the makeup and it looked one hundred percent better.
I am 51 with normal sensitive skin, large pores & some smile lines across forehead, tiny lines around eyes. I expected that with a product named “Instant Age Rewind Eraser” that this product would work for skin like mine. Instead, I found that it is very moist and (therefore?) settles into my forehead lines even before I’m done putting on the rest of my face. The amount of pigment is extremely little, so that I have to use concealer more often than I’d like. It also rubs off too easily when blowing your nose, holding phone, etc. After 4 weeks of use, I see absolutely no difference in my skin tone or whatever this product was supposed to be “rewinding”. I will not purchase again.
I’m only 18, haha, so I don’t need the anti-age part of this product, but what’s the harm! I’ve never used foundation before because everyone I see who uses it always looks bright orange and ridiculous. But after seeing this on TV I was easily convinced and just thought, “why not?!” So glad I did. As long as you’re clever and get the right colour, it’s really subtle coverage and gets rid of any dark lines or uneven tones, and it really does appear to erase them.
Tip: Use after Simple facial toner!

This foundation makes my pores look smaller & my dark circles less noticable.
It’s a bit pricey at £9 but I love it.

I purchased the primer and foundation fully expecting to be disappointed and swiftly return to my trusted favourites with confirmation I was getting my moneys worth from the high-end brands. I was so wrong… This foundation is fabulous!! It actually seems to improve the condition of your skin each time you use it. Initially I was surprised by the texture as it seemed too light to offer much coverage. However with continued use and the improvement in my skin this full coverage is no longer necessary for me! I definitely won’t be looking back. I must add though that this foundation requires a dusting of powder to improve the appearance and durability if it. Dior mineral of course! (I still retain some makeup snobbery)
I just brought this product last Saturday to go to a party. I love it! I danced away and the makeup didn’t run. I love it that is has an easy applicator with sunscreen and antioxidants to help improve your skin!

I purchased this because it is supposed to help hide or erase some wrinkles..It does not . why? This reminds me of face makeup.
I bought this yesterday and am returning it to the store today. Although the ‘sponge’ turned from white to the color of the product, nothing gets to my actual face. I thought it was my imagination, so on a clean face I applied it to half my face. Then I applied it again (2 coats) and I couldn’t tell the difference between the clean face side and the made-up side. How did this product make it through quality control?
I loved this product, at least on the second day I used it. On the first day I applied way too much and it looked terrible, but then my 10 year old suggested I not crank it up to the point where the product was actually visible on top of the eraser. Two weeks later my acne is gone, I am 36 and have struggled with it since my teens. My pores look smaller than ever before, and I went from thinking that I would never look good again to being very confident and happy about my appearance. It only takes the slightest amount of this product to work.
You know, I am a pretty sharp cookie, but this product nearly drove me crazy on how to use it!! THIS site taught me, but I just about dabbed that damn thing to death getting it to give me product!! There should be a how to for (apparently) dysfunctional makeup applier! I swear, I was squeezing both the tube and the sponge trying to get it! Thanks for this site that (barely) kept me from losing it!!

I absolutely LOVE this product!! I do have the regular age rewind without the sponge tip applicator, however been using the product for several months now. The coverage is perfect, medium but not too heavy and covers my slight redness in cheeks. It also gives me a very youthful, healthy glow, even skin tone and dewy finish. I have received several compliments from coworkers as well who ask me what product I’m using! Best of all, the coverage stays on all day! For over the counter product, you can’t beat the value. I would HIGHLY recommend this product.
