RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye CreamInspired by all of the bareMinerals goodness on QVC this weekend with Leslie’s on-air visit, I think it’s time to tell you about the new RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream I’ve been testing for just over 4 weeks now.  Just in case you’re not familiar with the other products in the RareMinerals skincare line, it’s an assortment of products that contain a unique and proprietary ActiveSoil™ Complex which in part, functions as mineral electrolytes to the skin.

Long story as short as possible–I think of this like giving Pedialyte to someone who is extremely dehydrated to replenish their body (which then reminds me of that time I had mono the entire summer before I started high school and drank TONS of the stuff while being ordered to bed rest, UGH).  So when your skin is dehydrated, it’s much like your body and doesn’t function as efficiently as it should because the skin is it’s own organ.  And ta-dah!  The aging process is sped up and often exaggerated as a result.  No thanks, think I’ll pass and slather myself in every product I can!

According to Bare Escentuals, based on a 6-week independent clinical study, this RareMinerals eye cream performed as follows:

• 100% noticed their skin was softer and smoother
• 97% noticed it provided just the right amount of moisture to the eye area
• 94% noticed the area around the eyes looked brighter and more awake
• 91% noticed their skin was firmer and more youthful
• 86% noticed a reduction in puffiness around the eye area

And I say…

Upon application, the skin under and around my eyes definitely feels smoother.  I appreciate how quickly it absorbs and doesn’t leave an oily residue behind, making it easy to apply my makeup and concealer over it without any issues.  Huge plus!  So it’s fair to say it leaves just the right amount of moisture.  Another benefit I like is that it’s extremely gentle on my eyes, I can even apply it on my brow bone and just a little on my eyelids at night before bedtime too, it’s super soothing and doesn’t irritate my eyes one bit.  In regards to puffiness under my eyes, it does help on those mornings when I wake up a little more puffy than usual, and it continues to get better one morning at a time…it wasn’t a drastic reduction on the first use.  If I had to guess, that would be due to the marine peptides in the ingredients which have been known to help flush toxins–but it’s definitely a cumulative benefit.  It’s not going to be an instant miracle, so I’m keeping that in mind!

Here you can see it’s texture right out of the tube:

RareMinerals Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream

Overall analysis: In my experience over the past few weeks (using both AM & PM), I’ve realized that the Active Triple Treatment Eye Cream is soothing and gentle, perfectly hydrating, provides antioxidant protection with it’s natural complex, and believe it or not–I swear that there’s a little reduction in my crow’s feet when I smile.  As far as any quantitative data to back that up, I couldn’t even go there–but I suppose at the end of the day that our perception of ourselves is what truly matters when it comes to product performance!  For a retail price of $28, this is a great eye cream that’s in-between a basic, and a super clinical (and super expensive) formula which I feel makes it a good value.  It’s also paraben-free, artificial oil-free, and free of synthetic fragrances.

Available in February on Sephora.com, BareEscentuals.com, and at select Ulta and Nordstrom locations.  Let me know if you’ve tried this or if you think you’ll be picking it up!

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!

I actually received it as a free sample size with an online purchase. I didn’t think I needed it so I just tossed it in a drawer and left it there. . .Then I had an allergic reaction to my mascara. My eyes were swollen, itchy, bright red, and dry. Absolutely NOTHING I used worked, even organic products made it worse. I was scrambling through my drawers looking for something and there it was so I decided to give it a try!

After applying as needed my eyes cleared up in three days! it helped tremendously and I’d definitely recommend it to a friend :)
