If I’m wearing pair of shoes I find even remotely uncomfortable, I morph into a human anomaly with fangs–just ask my poor husband. If it were up to me, it would be just as socially acceptable to wear attractive sandals 24/7 as it is to wear a pair of heels in public on a weekday (and I’m not talking about some janky pair of flip-flops from the bottom of your closet, girls). I can wear the cutest heels for all of an hour before I can’t even hear what anyone is saying to me anymore, everyone sounds like Charlie Brown’s teacher. *wah wa wah waha* My little piggies hurt so bad that all I’m even capable of thinking is: when do I get to take these damn things off?
If you’ve ever been there, you completely understand how miserable it is! You can still wear your Louboutins (you lucky, lucky girl), or in my case–Steve Madden’s without wincing the night away. Check out these simple solutions for more comfy feet:

CitySlips* — I cannot think of a single reason why any woman should not have a pair of these stashed in her glove box, tote bag, desk drawer, or briefcase. CitySlips are the answer to any shoe emergency whether your feet are killing you, you broke a strap, or you want to keep dancing at a wedding. These foldable, reusable ballet flats come in a neat zip-up pouch that expands into a tote bag large enough to stash your original offending footwear. Sturdy enough to get you home after a long day, the dual-soled bottoms provide a safe cushion and temporary fix until you make it to your front steps. Available in black, silver, and gold–my picky feet LOVE THESE THINGS, and want to shout it from the rooftops! And for all the times I was a bridesmaid, these would have been like heaven to me at the reception, where out of nowhere I found my inner dancin’ machine.
Band-Aid Friction Block Stick*– Even your most comfy shoes can cause friction during a workout or if you’ve been walking all day. Blisters anyone? No thanks. I have a few pairs of shoes that really rub my heels the wrong way and often leave me a lovely surprise blister or two by day’s end. Resembling a small deodorant stick, glide this invisible barrier on the areas that tend to bug you, and you’ll be using a whole lot less emergency Band-Aids to make it through the day.
Foot Petals Tip Toes — I’m not sure I can adequately describe my love-affair with Foot Petals Tip Toes, you’d have to try them to understand! Unlike those cheapie pads under the ball of my foot that end up falling out of my shoes, these stay put and they’re made of a unique shock-absorbing material that helps to support the pressure points I seem to put all of my weight on. These have helped me countless times since I first tried them about a year ago, and I’ve bought several more since then. They definitely buy me a little extra wear-time before I start to grimace and whine about my feet.
ShoeTube.tv — Yes, I’m serious. ShoeTube is AWESOME! I’m a klutz and often I can’t walk correctly in heels. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I know I’m not alone. So check out this quick refresher course if you need a little brush up! It will help save you from a little pain.

That’s awesome! I didn’t know that there was a shoe channel! lol. Since one day a pair of Louboutins WILL be mine, I think I shall brush up on my high heel walking (do you believe I first typed “hell” instead of “heel”?! lol).
I seriously need the CitySlips (and I can’t even wear heals anymore)! Already love Foot Petals and the Band-Aid stick, which I carry in my overloaded purse. Need to buy CitySlips ASAP! Thanks for the heads up, Amber. My feet will love you as much as I do!
I love FootPetals Tip Toes! They are absolutely wonderful! I have them in all of my shoes for work.
Shauna, you will probably flip over ShoeTube! And someday, oh someday…Louboutins will me mine… lol
Charlestongirl, CitySlips are seriously the best “emergency” shoes I’ve ever seen that aren’t too “emergency”, you know what I mean? Love you too!
Angela, isn’t it kind of ridiculous how something so simple can be so genius? I feel like–why didn’t I think of that?! lol
