If you take a second to lightly press on your cheek, you’ll notice a cushion that results in a little bit of a bounce when you take your fingers off of it. You can partially thank your skin’s collagen for that suppleness, it provides the youthful fullness in our skin that we are fighting to protect every day to prevent the dreaded “sag”. As we age, our skin loses it’s ability to produce collagen. Major drag, huh?
While I don’t ever think any single skincare product is the cure to turn back the hands of time, I have found several that I think have helped me in my own personal battle of the sag! I agree with Dr. Patricia Wexler– “Every skin is aging skin.” And then there’s the tried and true, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Yep! With those facts in mind, I tried out Patricia Wexler M.D. Dermatology’s MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum and I think it’s Fab Find worthy!
Upon opening up the jar, it’s pretty unique-looking for a serum:

With it’s dimethicone base, the serum has a pink jelly-like texture that provides a smooth slip to the skin. I didn’t detect any noticeable fragrance, so if you’re sensitive to scents it should be okay for you. According to Dr. Wexler, MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum contains a complex that has been proven in lab tests to inhibit the damaging enzymes that naturally occur in the skin that breakdown it’s valuable collagen.
While using the product, I found it absorbed well–despite how buttery it feels when it’s applied. After three weeks of use at bedtime under a moisturizer, I felt that it amped up my moisturizer’s power (with the first use), and that my skin started to appear brighter after about a week of consecutive use. Both AM & PM use are recommended, but for my skin personally–I preferred using the serum only at night, because the serum, moisturizer with SPF, foundation primer, and foundation together seems like just a tad too much! For drier skin types or more mature skin, I think it would be ideal. I’m curious to see how it would perform with continued use, and I don’t think a 1 oz. jar could be any more generous! Just a touch of the serum is enough for the entire face and just a little more for the neck.
I’m currently testing out the new Prevage Anti-Aging Serum, so I’ll let you know how that goes in a few weeks!

My cousin used to have some lines around her eyes (she was always in the sun), but suddenly they are gone! I asked her what she was using, and she said the MMPI Serum… so I got some (because she looks amazing). I’m on here trying to see how others use it (because I agree that it is too much with my other stuff in the morning), and now will be trying it every night. I hope it is a MIRACLE WORKER! Thanks for your info.
I had a ? i am 23 i have been using the serum to prevent sag i know i am young but its never too late to start right???? Or am i hurting my face by using this serum to early?
You’re not hurting your face at all…you’re giving it extra TLC. This might not be the best product for you at 23, but it certainly won’t harm you
dr wexler states that your skin starts aging at the age of 17
