CoverGirl’s Own Molly R. Stern Makes Rashida Jones Even More Gorgeous

Have you ever wondered what goes into making a celeb red carpet ready for a huge event?  Imagine having your curiosity satisfied by being just feet away from one of the world’s most sought-after makeup artists–CoverGirl’s own Molly R. Stern as she prepped Rashida Jones for the MTV Movie Awards.  I was lucky enough to watch the magic happen this past Sunday at Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills, but believe me–Rashida doesn’t need much help in the beauty department because the girl is just too gorgeous for words, even sans makeup.

Rashida’s dress was simple and black so we wanted to play up her makeup with a bit of color. I started by applying a light moisturizer to her face followed by COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Primer to prep her skin for foundation. Next, I applied a touch of COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Corrector under her eyes to conceal any darkness followed by COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Classic Tan and COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry to the apples of her cheeks.

On Rashida’s eye, I wanted to create a colorful smoky eye, so I started with COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Citrus Flair. I added dramatic definition with the COVERGIRL Exact Eyelights Eyeshadow palette for brown eyes. Next, I lined her eyes with new COVERGIRL LiquiLine Blast in Violet Voltage followed by LiquiLine Blast in Green Glow to the inner corner for an unexpected pop of color. I finished the look with a few coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in Black on the top lashes and LashBlast Fusion in Brown on the bottom lashes.

For Rashida’s lips I applied COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstain in Flirty Nude followed by COVERGIRL ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Smolder for a shiny pout with a hint of color.

Molly made it look SO effortless to achieve Rashida’s clean, yet sultry look!  I want to be BFFs with Molly R. Stern and Rashida Jones because they are just two hilarious, down-to-earth, and sweet gals.  If you are curious about Rashida’s rockin’ hairstyle, Byron applied a few extensions in two different colors and french braided her hair from the left ear.  He then used an Enzo Milano Bi-Tube Curling Iron to give some messy texture that just made it so hot!

And of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pose with Molly:

I’ll be reviewing the new CoverGirl LiquiLine Blast eyeliner pencils soon, so stay tuned–they look super fun!  Many thanks to CoverGirl for allowing me to see the amazing Molly R. Stern in action while she worked on one of my favorite celebs, Rashida Jones.  I also met an amazing hairstylist while at the Byron & Tracey salon named Tomas.  I am SO incredibly grateful because my fave hair guy moved and I’ve been sad for months!  On the 18th, I’m going in to see Tomas, so let’s see what he’s got planned for my ‘do!

Oh, Amber, you look GORGEOUS! (*and I’m not just biased!) And your hair is getting SO. LONG! So glad you got to experience this – it looks like such a great time! xoxo

Awwwww Paula, thank you doll. I wish you were there :) I miss you!

I love my hair longer now and I plan on keeping it that way, but the whole having to sleep with my hair in a low loose ponytail thing is driving me NUTS. I’m so restless that when I’m tossing and turning it gets trapped under a shoulder and I yank it. Pain is beauty… LOL
