Review: Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara

You know how I am about my mascara, heaven forbid there be a new one that I haven’t tried yet!  You may have seen this one trickle in to stores, Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara.  It promises to “fill in the gaps” with it’s spoon-shaped brush, resulting in a false lash effect.  Let’s take a look at the wand:

The brush is almost completely flat on two sides at the curvature of the brush, which initially made me frown because I usually don’t have great luck with brushes that are flat on one side.  The formula is a very wet one, so keep in mind that it might take a few seconds longer to dry.  I use the bristles for my lower lashes which makes them appear quite long, but I actually prefer the flat side up against my top lashes!  I find that it definitely pushes the lashes up and makes them appear thicker because it rearranges the shape of them into several “groups” if you will.  If you’re someone who likes to see every last lash clearly defined on it’s own, this probably isn’t going to be the one for you.  If you prefer a fanned out doll-eyed effect, give this one a shot.  Me?  I’m an equal-opportunity lash lover, and it all depends on my mood if I want a clean mascara look or something a little sassy.  So for me, The Falsies Volum’ Express was a big GO for my sassier side!

I did spy this last week at my local Target, it looked like the endcap had been shopped pretty decently and there weren’t a ton of Falsies to be had.  In my area I haven’t seen this at other retailers yet, but I know some people have picked it up at CVS here on the west coast.  What do you think?  Will you be picking up The Falsies?

This is by far the best mascara I’ve ever tried; and I’ve tried many. I was so shocked that my lashes were actually full, long, and had so much volume. With other products I would get slight length and no fullness. Finally a product that is what it is advertised to be. $5.00 well spent.

The Falsies should be called The Clumpies!!!! This is a new product of Maybelline, how could it possibly already be dried out. You can’t return it unless, of course, you save your shopping receit. I absolutely do NOT recommend this product to anyone.
