I would feel so guilty if I didn’t tell you about this little eye cream gem I found when I wasn’t even looking for it! About 6 weeks ago I was at Sally Beauty Supply picking up some nail buffers and other nail goodies when I spotted Claudia Stevens Eye Fix Mix Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream. With my Sally card and the coupon they had in their sales ad at the time–I paid about $4 for it! Normally I don’t really pick up my skincare products at Sally’s, and especially when it comes to eye cream I can be pretty picky. But after I looked at the ingredients I was totally sold on it, and these are just a few that make it a good buy:
Shea butter, sweet almond oil, cocoa seed butter, green tea, chamomile, vitamin A, lavender extract, vitamin E, and sodium hyaluronate.
Here’s a case where my curiosity paid off! This anti-aging eye cream is a full ounce, where most eye creams are a measly half ounce. Dehydration under the eye area is public enemy number one, especially because it makes the skin look crepey and older than it really is. Eye Fix Mix does a great job with moisturizing those fine lines! I’m prone to milia under my eyes if I use anything too rich, so I’m actually alternating this with Time Arrest Eye Serum from Dr. Brandt (review on that coming soon), and it has turned out to be a winning combo. Always trying to find a great eye product, as eyelash extensions are my business.
If you wear amazing eyelash extensions, always remember to apply eye creams and serums sparingly. The fragile skin around the eye does need moisture (loves hyalauronic acid), but it doesn’t absorb as much product as the skin on your cheeks & forehead, etc. We always instruct Eyelash Extension wearers to apply their favorite eye creams and serums, but to blot off all excess 2 minutes after application.
