Now that I’m a mom-to-be, I am learning that what you put ON your body is just as important as what you put IN your body. Unfortunately, there are products out there that contain harmful chemicals and additives that can actually contribute to health problems to your unborn baby.  Scary! When a few samples of Original Sprout items fell into my hands I was more than eager to give them a shot. They tout that their products are natural and contain no harmful chemicals. And the extra added bonus is that they promote these products for the whole family by stating “For Babies & Up” right there on the front of the package.

First I tried their Natural Shampoo.  My hair felt clean and soft after use, but I really wish I would have had my hands on some of their Deep Conditioner to follow up. My hair is coarse and dry, so it is super rare I just shampoo and go.  Keep in mind this shampoo is safe for babies too so it has a rather low suds-factor which is great for youngins, but maybe mom might want some more foam.

After shampooing, I followed up with the Miracle Detangler and let me tell you—the name of this product is accurate. Growing up, I have flashbacks of sitting on the front porch while my mom would spritz detangler in my hair and try to comb out all the knots. Had this stuff been around in the early 80′s I would have been a much happier child—a miracle! It is rather rich, so I felt like the detangler actually added a conditioning element to my hair. One caution though—this stuff is so rich the pump got clogged a few times. I suggest rinsing the nozzle in hot water after every use.

The other product I tried was their Scrumptious Baby Cream. Nothing smells sweeter or tugs your heartstrings more than the lovely fragrance of a freshly bathed baby. This cream captures that scent in a super subtle way, which I love for mom-use. And for baby-use, the fragrance you expect is still there. The cream is nice and thick, spreads on evenly and absorbs quickly leaving no film, residue or oil on your skin.

The reasons why these products are safe for the whole family is because they contain no parabens, nanoparticles, formaldehyde or other chemical additives.  Also, if you are vegan this product is void of dairy product, they even omit soy and gluten.  Original Sprout uses natural elements like rosemary leaf, basil flower and calendula flower.  Perfect for mom, baby and everybody else in the house!
