Review & Swatches: JK Jemma Kidd City Chic Lip Kit from the Grecian Goddess Collection for Spring/Summer 2011

New for spring, Jemma Kidd drew inspiration from the Alberto Ferretti and Chloe Spring/Summer 2011 Resort collections and meshed that with classic Grecian style. White, nude, gold, and khaki looks with a pop of pink on the lips keeps everything looking fresh and chic. The JK Jemma Kidd City Chic Lip Kit features five wearable nudes/pinks, perfect for day or night, in a sleek black compact—complete with a touch-up mirror and lip brush.

These shades were selected from Jemma’s Classic Couture Lipstick and Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss collections, with the addition of one exclusive lip color.

  • Exclusive Lip Gloss Fuchsia
  • Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss Hot Spot
  • Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss Sassy
  • Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss Strip
  • Classic Couture Lip Colour Minx

This is the first experience I’ve had with Jemma Kidd’s lip products, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. I found the formulas of all of the shades extremely comfortable and moist on the lips, and I think they rival those of higher-end brands that you find only at counters. If I could change anything, I wish the pans of gloss were a little bit larger for the $22 price tag. I like all of these shades so well, that I imagine I’ll go through them rather quickly! The texture is just right on all five colors, neither too hard or too soft, and there’s not an overwhelming fragrance or flavor—it’s so slight that I can’t even describe it. I would actually buy several of her Air Kiss lip gloss shades individually after trying this, especially Hot Spot since it was my fave!

Often when I have a palette of lip colors, I end up toting it around and only wearing one of the shades in it—with this one, I’ll actually use all of the colors for once! It’s a perfect blend of everyday pinks for just about everyone.
