One of the things I look forward to most as I’m looking for products to cover on Beauty Junkies Unite, is stumbling across a brand that’s off the beaten path. This path led me to The Seaweed Bath Co. and their collection of products that are extremely beneficial for those that are suffering from dry, scaly, red, and irritated skin.
I specifically took an immediate liking to their Unscented Body Butter, it was an incredibly hot day and I took a long walk and experienced some chafing on my legs. Not so hot, eh? Nothing I was doing was soothing the burn, and then I uncapped this and rubbed it on. Lo and behold—the discomfort was instantly calmed. After that, I started wiping this stick on my knees, elbows, and even on my heels before bedtime. Before I knew it, I was convinced of the therapeutic benefits of seaweed for the skin. There are a lot of natural nutrients and amino acids in seaweed that nourish the skin, and that makes it the perfect ingredient for flaky and scaly skin on the body.
This is an all-natural product, and to be perfectly honest—the “unscented” doesn’t smell so great! It reminds me of seaweed, but once it’s on I don’t smell it at all. So you won’t find any synthetic fragrances in their products. They do make a Lemongrass scent too that’s also naturally sourced, but I haven’t taken a whiff of it, so I can’t say for sure how it smells. But one thing I do know, this product has been working wonders on the scaly spots on my knees and legs. I have to get them ready for self-tanning season, and this is going to help me prep!
Another thing I really like about this product (aside from it working!), is how it’s housed in a container that’s like a deodorant stick. It makes it easy to glide exactly where you need it, you don’t even need to touch the product itself. Just remove the cap, twist up what you need, and glide it on your knees, legs, elbows, ankles…anywhere you’re dry! I use it just before bed, so that while I’m sleeping—my skin just drinks it in.
