Now this, is what I’m talking about! Hello Kitty for Sephora Memoirs of a Kitty is an adorable, yet sophisticated collection for beauty junkies and Hello Kitty enthusiasts. While Memoirs consists of three items, only one is an actual color cosmetic item—with the other two being must-have accessories.
Dressed up in a gorgeous sakura print, Memoirs of a Kitty includes…
- Memoirs of a Kitty Palette — four Charmmy universally flattering eyeshadow shades and two powder blushes in a dual-layer compact. $35
- Memoirs of a Kitty Cosmetic Bag — soft, roomy, and very detailed—this makeup bag is the perfect size. $28
- Memoirs of a Kitty Notebook (not pictured) — stash your notes in this stylish 120-page, cherry blossom and Geisha Hello Kitty-themed notebook. $14
About the size of the palm of my hand, the Memoirs of a Kitty Say Hello Palette contains:
Pearlized pinky-beige eyeshadow, pearlized tan eyeshadow, pearlized honey eyeshadow, sparkling brown eyeshadow, peach powder blush, and rose powder blush.
And how cute is that jade bow?
The eyeshadows in the palette are surprisingly pigmented for being neutrals. I love the nice mixture of warm, soft shades with the sparkling dark brown. The dark brown works great blended in the crease, and really stays put as a liner. I often have issues with liner on my bottom lash-line migrating, but not so with this one. The texture of the shadows are soft and velvety, I didn’t really have any fallout issues either! This really is a nice surprise, sometimes I fear that collections created around animated characters might be a little gimmicky. I didn’t feel that way with this palette at all.
The peach and rose pink blushes are suuuuuuper pigmented:
If I didn’t know any better, I would think these were NARS or LORAC blushes, the color saturation and quality is phenomenal. You may wish to apply these with a lighter hand and blend very well—for that reason. There’s a nice amount of shimmer in these that makes the skin look kind of ethereal when applied, but they aren’t glittery. If you fear too much blush, I don’t want to scare you—you can still totally wear these! Just err on the side of caution. One of the perks of the Hello Kitty for Sephora line is that each formula is infused with skin-soothing antioxidants like strawberry, apple, and grapeseed extracts, so that aspect makes it a little more mature as well.
I went for a softer eye & lip look with a bolder cheek by blending both cheek colors together
If you like neutral, easy-to-blend eyeshadows, you’re a Hello Kitty collector (or even both!), you won’t want to miss the palette!
