Review & Swatches: Urban Decay Rollergirl Nail Polish Kit for Summer 2011

Continuing their “rollergirl” theme for summer 2011 (see the Rollergirl Eyeshadow palette here), Urban Decay sends us on yet another fantastic roller rink-era voyage with the Rollergirl Nail Kit. Check out these six vibrant shades of nail polish in this mini-set!

Each bottle contains 0.17 fl. oz. of polish—the ideal amount for several manis or pedis before you grow tired of the color and want to move on to the next. The Rollergirl Nail Kit holds the perfect mix of what’s hot right now in nails; brights and shimmering neutrals in a funky floral vanity tray worthy of gifting—while buying one for yourself, too!

The shade breakdown:

  • Fame — shimmering champagne
  • Miss T — bright shimmering orchid
  • Xanadu — sheer jelly-like purple with purple glitter
  • Love Train — opalescent shimmer
  • Woodstock — vibrant opaque hot pink
  • Superfreak — shimmering gold with gold micro-glitter

Sometimes when it comes to the brushes inside of mini polishes, I have a difficult time applying the polish—but somehow Urban Decay has managed to make these pretty easy to apply, the brush head appears to be full size. The formula has a nice flow and levels out perfectly, the only exception I had was with Love Train. In each of the swatches I used two coats of polish—and now I realize I could have used a thin third with Love Train to prevent the minor balding that occurred. In my honest opinion, it’s very minor and it isn’t very noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

The nail polishes inside the Rollergirl Nail Kit are big 3-free, have awesome color payoff, and wear well. I can’t get enough of Woodstock and Miss T!

Will you be skating off with the Rollergirl Nail Kit?
